website <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Rookie Becomes First Piston Designated to NBA Development LeaguePistons Assign Johnson to FayettevilleJohnsonAUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced today that the Detroit Pistons have assigned rookie Amir Johnson to the Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA Development League (D-League).Johnson, 6-9, 210, was drafted 56th in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Pistons out of Westchester High School (Los Angeles, CA). He played in one game this season scoring two points and recording one block at Minnesota on Jan. 24.</div> Not really big news but he is the first Piston. I think this will be good for him. I don't see Acker or Jason getting sent down any time soon. Acker is insurance in case Billups/Hunter gets injured. Jason is insurance if Ben/Sheed/Dyess/Davis gets injured

I wonder how he'll do. I think they should probably send down Maxiell. He's just rotting on the bench, and he could possibly develop chemistry w/ Amir down in the D-League.

Yeah but I think they want to have them there in blowouts they don't have to play ben, sheed or dyess. Although if Cato is healthy enough to play he may get sent down there. He would get a lot of playing time(or at least more then he is getting with the Pistons) and like you said he could develop chemistry with Amir

I like this. I see him devolping into an athletic forward down there. He could come off the bench for us in the future.the best thing the NBA did this year was incorperate the NBDL.
