<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mavsfan1000 @ Feb 28 2006, 11:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Did you watch Miami last year? When teams doubled Wade and Shaq who was nailing 3's? Damon Jones was the perfect fit for Miami. I couldn't say the same about Jason Williams. He takes a lot of 3's but makes them at a low percentage. Maybe that is one part of the game but it is the part Miami needs most. Jason Williams is also a very poor defender and fails to make Wade and Shaq better. Sorry if you disagree. Why was Miami better last year you think?</div>Umm. Who said last years team was better? Last years team is only 4 games ahead of this years team at this point of the season. PLUS Shaq was out TRIPLE as many games at this point as he was last season. PLUS this team has only had the starting line up play togethher for half of the games. PLUS the Heat's second half is MUCH easier this year then it was last year. So for you to say last years team was better shows you don't know what you are talking about. And Damn Jones is a role player that has no skill other then 3. He is HORRIBLE in the clutch, and wil never hit the game winning shot. Jason is everything Damon wasn't, except for 6 percentage points in three pointers. And btw, Antoine is shooting .354 3pt percent. 26 points higher then his career average. Also, his FG percent is the highest of his career. Do some research buddy.

I still am pissed at the Heat for dishing away Odom and that team they had in 03-04. Watching the emergence of Dwayne Wade that season in the playoffs was unbelivable, they had a team chemistry similar to Detroit. Miami had a roster with a bunch of mediocre players and this exciting rookie Dwayne Wade. They had guys like brian grant, eddie jones, rafer alston, eddie jones, haslem, wade, odom. They made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs the first year they were together but they played some great basketball. If they played together for a couple of years they could have been a great team. Their roster right now is bad news, payton, j-will, posey, and ANTOINE WALKER [IMG] we all know he's capable of throwing away games. I would have liked to see that 03-04 roster develop, Odom had the best year of his career in Miami, him and Wade were fun to watch.

As fun as that team was, they would never have become a title contender like they did become with Shaq around.

Yeah I feel Walker is a cancer on a great team. He doesn't play defense, he doesn't make good decisions on offense, and he isn't a high percentage shooter. He is having one of his best years but history shows Walker is not clutch.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dagameplayer @ Feb 27 2006, 06:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I was watching ESPN last night(Like I do every night lol) and thought something Stephen A said was very right so I thought I'd post on here to see what you Miami Heat fan's thought about his coments.Stephen A Smith was asked on ESPN yesterday if he thought the Miami Heat are a better team this season then they were last year and he said no and I completely agreed with the reasons of his anwer. He said that the reason he think's Miami was better last year was because the team had more experence and Chemesty. Last year the Miami heat had verterian guard Eddie Jones who played very well in the playoffs last year if I must add as well as Damon Jones. These guys were a better team then because they had been playing together there for a while there for they knew each other pretty well. Everything pretty much just clicked perfectly and when Shaq was brought in he was the final piece of the puzzle. With Shaq on the team not only did Miami's scoring go up but there Defense improved as well and I believe if they would have kept this team the way it was they would have had a much better record then they do right now. Don't get me wrong the Miami Heat are a very good team and the additions of A Walk, Posey, Gary Payton and J Williams weren't bad but at the same time it wasn't good either because imo it just wasn't needed. Anybody agree?</div>this is old news. It was obvious from the get-go_Oh, and to join in the Toine discussions, i can't wait till the playoffs, when he jacks up any open shot, never passes on the fast break, and continually gets burned on D. haha, i can't wait.
