Re: Courtside reminded says to look out for channing for ime... but I think I saw that posted on this forum earlier this week.
Re: Courtside reminded lol whattt? What would that accomplish? I guess I would feel good for Channing because he probably would finally get to play some
That would be a stupid trade....There is a reason Ime sits on the bench in SA...and a reason he has been an available FA...b\c he isn't that great....Where is he going to play? Ahead of Outlaw?...Send Batum back to the bench? Tell Webster to take the year off? Inform Rudy that we need to cut his minutes by 5-10 per game so we can fit room in for Ime? Give me a break....He did an admirable job while he was here...but remember, he was a veteran starter on a bad team...
Not only that, and while I like Ime, that trade seems to help SA more than it helps us. And that's something I would rather not do as we compete with them for the playoffs.
I doubt if he would be acquired mainly for his play (because, after all, we're not exactly getting much play out of Channing). Rather it would be his "veteran lockerroom presence". Plus he's tough as nails, and toughness is something many people have been lamenting we lack. If you doubt me...
I was thinking the same thing. Not sure how Ime would help (lockerroom is a good take), but I don't want SA to get any stronger and I could see Frye having a role on that team. Nothing against Frye . . . great guy . . . but, Blazers first!
Would this trade be likely to tip the balance in SA's favor in a series? I highly doubt it. And part of me wants Channing to get a chance to play in a good environment for him (he'd fit in there fine: I bet Duncan knows more about World of Warcraft than he does). Now: how is Ime at throwing entry passes and running the pick and roll?
ouch. if that happens hopefully we at least get a draft pick or something out of it. frye has been terrible at times, but he's still a fairly young big man with pretty good range and some potential to get better. he should be worth more than nothing, which is Ime's market value.
Could this be a sign Webster might not return this year or is going to be out a lot longer than expected which actually he has already been.
Is Webster's foot injury much worse than we are being told? That's the only reason that deal makes any sense. I'm guessing San Antonio would be less willing to do that deal if Webster is really out for longer than the three more weeks the team seems to be indicating he will be out.
