Maybe biasm, but I liked the 90s. You had the greatest centers ever combined, the greatest player ever, the greatest pf ever, the greatest pure PG ever, and the greatest group of Defensive Players ever(Payton,Dikembe,Pippen,Hakeem,MJ,Rodman)It's got to be hands down the 90s.

The 50's-Dominated by Bob Pettit and George Mikan talent was at an all time low but competitiveness was high. Only 17 teams in the league at that point. The greatest NBA feat that came in the 50's was the 24 second shot clock. The Lakers dominated the era winning 4 titles.Best players of the 50's-George Mikan,Harry Gallatin,Vern Mikkelson,Bob Pettit.Nate "Sweet Water" CliftonBest teams of the 50's-Minneapolis Lakers,Boston Celtics,New York KnicksThe 60's-The NBA began the '60s with eight teams in two divisions playing a 75-game schedule. The Celtics dominated the NBA in the '60s, winning nine championships. Celtics Hall of Famers from those teams include Russell, Bob Cousy, Bill Sharman, Tom Heinsohn, Sam Jones, K.C. Jones, Frank Ramsey, and John Havlicek. This era was dominated by Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell perhaps the greatest rivarly of all time.Best players of the 60's-Bob Cousy,Wilt Chamberlain,Bill Russell,Elgin Baylor,Jerry West,Hal Greer,Best teams of the 60's-Boston Celtics,Philiadelphia 76ers,LA LakersThe 70's-In this decade the NBA title was a throw up every season with the Knicks and Celtics each winning 2 then the Milwaukee Bucks, Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Bullets, and Seattle SuperSonics captured one apiece. so it was very hard to predict who would win the title. In the mid 70's is when the ABA-NBA merger began and the NBA recieved 4 ABA teams. The ABA's Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, New York Nets and San Antonio Spurs merged into the NBA for the 1976-77 season, while the players from the remaining ABA teams went into a dispersal draft.this was the year the nba added flash to there game with the help of ABA star "DR.J " Julious Erving.Best players of the 70's-Dr. J ,Artis Gilmore,Rick Barry,Kareem Abdur Jabbar,Oscar Robinson,Best teams of the 70's-Milwaukee Bucks,New York Knicks, Boston Celtics,The 80's-The decade that saved the NBA,the arrival of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were a huge contribution to the NBA.Johnson and Bird arrived in the NBA for the 1979-80 season and their teams dominated the league for the next decade. Magic's Lakers appeared in eight Finals, won five championships, while Bird's Celtics made it to five Finals, winning three titles. the 80's also held one of the best nba drafts in history with stars like Hakeem Olojuawan,Michael Jordan,Charles Barkely,John Stockton,And Alvin RobertsonBest players of the 80's-Michael Jordan,Kareem Abdur Jabbar,Magic Johnson,Larry Bird,Isiah Thomas,Dr J,Moses MaloneBest teams of the 80's-Detroit Pistons,Philadelphia 76ers,Boston Celtics,LA LakersThe 90's-The making of Michael Jordan. It saw all the leagues previous stars retire and new ones being reborn. This decade registered the best team in all sports history the 1992 Dream Team. The 00's was dominated by the SA Spurs and the LA Lakers. in 2003 there was mabey one of the best drafts in nba history which featured future stars,Dywane Wade,Lebron James,Carmelo Anthony,Chris Bosh.Best teams of the 00's-LA Lakers, SA Spurs, Dallas Mavericks,Detroit Pistons, Best players of the 00's-Shaq,Kobe Bryant,Tim Duncan,Kevin Garnett,Jason Kidd,Allen IversonFor the best players/best teams I just gave examples of a few you can add or take away any of them. Theres more than what I listed.

Good post but the Trailblazers should either be apart of late 80s or early 90s, along with the Hawks of the 80s.

80s for me. So many championship teams, meaning there was more talent spread out. So many great players as well. We're talking MJ, Bird, Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Parish, McHale, Barkely, Clyde, Hakeem, Isiah, Moses Malone, Dr.J. It also included the ebst draft class ever. Enough said

At least In consideration and with a roster with players like Moses Malone,Doc Rivers,Spud Webb,Kenny Smith, and Dmonique Wilkins they should definately be in consideration.
