From SI Writer Don Banks: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/01/22/mock1/index.html They have the Packers taking DE Michael Johnson from Georgia Tech at #9. If that happens, I hope he pans out better than the last DE the Packers took in the first round. *cough* Jamal Reynolds *cough*
Bucs taking a wide receiver?? I hope it doesn't come to that. I'd rather take a big d tackle that can actually get a hand on opposing running backs.
I'm liking the idea of a DT, but I'm cautious of sacrificing size for being able to fit into the Cover 2 again.
I wouldn't like the selection of Brain Cushing at 14. Way to early for him in my opinion. I'd rather trade down if he's the best linebacker left. He can fall to the 20's. Did I skim by too fast or is James Laurinaitis not in the first round?
What is this, a mock draft that dont have a QB going first? mmm I think that guy was trolling over here and read what ive been saying about the lions. And would the Chargers really draft Beenie Wells?
If he falls to them, I don't see why not....Sproles is a free agent and is sure to be asking more based on the potential teams saw in the playoffs....but maybe to steep for the Chargers to bid on him...especially if Wells is there when they pick
Because without Sproles they have no reliable backup for what is proving to be an often injured LT. And with the string of injuries to LT they might want to start looking into a growing trend of many other teams....Running back by Commitee. Just because a team has an established back doesn't mean they wouldn't go for someone as enticing at Wells. Where would the Vikings be if they passed on Adrian Peterson, just because they had an established 1,000 rusher in Chester Taylor? Or what about Chris Johnson? They had White who rushed for over 1,000 yards last year and 22 Rushing TD's over the last two seasons combined going into last season. And that logic didn't stop Pittsburg from drafting Rashard Mendenhall even though Parker got at least 1,200 rushing yards three straight years. And even though he was was injured, Felix Jones was picked up by Dallas even though they have Barber The fact remains that if Wells falls on thier lap....he is a better option moneywise than Sproles....and with LT continuing to be hindered by nagging injuries...they need a viable backup...I don't see how they could pass him up. Oh, and big ups for the Green Lantern up there!!!
Eagles with a Jason Smith/Moreno 1st round? I'll take that . I know this articles a little old, but I only hope the Eagles are able to snatch one of Wells/Moreno, as I'm sick of watching Buckhalter behind Westbrook.
