Apparently the Heat are holding a press conference this afternoon at 12:30AM.

This report makes the upcoming press conference seem ominous:

You guys are too harsh on him. :tsktsk:

On a side note, what would be your guys' reaction if it was a press conference where Miami announced that they traded Zo for Parker? Lol. I'm pretty sure the nation of Canada would be on a witch hunt for BC.

You mean using his illness as an excuse to back out of a contract he willingly signed by forcing a trade, then using the same excuse to get off of that team and return to Miami where he suddenly regained full health and won a championship?

    Yeah, he's had it rough.

Fuck him everyday and twice on Sundays.

The main reason you (and Zo, and Babcock) are wrong is that he was a professional athlete, not a mercenary. Part of being a professional is honouring your contract. He left Miami willingly to chase dollars in New Jersey. Things didn't turn out the way he expected so he weaseled his way out of town by sitting out until he was waived, bought-out, or traded. Then he got his wish and was traded but that wasn't good enough, he wanted to go to a Miami team that was getting better (without him). So naturally he didn't report to Toronto, and Rob Babcock, being a limp-wristed sycophant, gave him an eight-figure handshake and told everyone he was just in the trade to balance it for the salary cap. All the while Mourning pretended to be too unhealthy to play in the NBA. As soon as he was bought-out, and not bought-out for nothing mind you but bought out for a significant portion of his contract, he ran back to Miami, laced up his shoes, and played an important role with that team en route to a championship. Suddenly his health concerns weren't an issue anymore. It wasn't about him not wanting to play for New Jersey or Toronto--nobody can blame someone in the twilight of their career for not wanting to waste away in a dead-end situation--it was about him being unprofessional. He stole money from Jersey and Toronto. The honourable thing to do would be to void his contract post-trade and go to Miami. Instead, he took money from a player contract and ran. Also, just as a footnote, when he was with Miami the second time he complained about playing time. Quite a guy.
