I can't be assed to read the whole article, and plus I don't really have an opinion on Italian football because I rarely watch it.

I haven't watched football as frequently as I used to, but I always took exception to this argument against Italian football. It's something you see in every professional sport too. People criticize the defensive aspects of a game, calling games that emphasize that dimension boring and uninteresting. But the offensively dominated games they praise so much really depend a lot on mistakes and sloppy play to create offensive opportunities. I've personally always found something especially enjoyable about games that stress solid defensive play: the goals may come less often, but they're well-earned.

I love the style of play, especially Lazio and Juventus. Their tough draw last weekend was one hell of a match and was a great start for people unfamiliar with the Italian game.
