<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>ESPN - ESPN's Chris Sheridan says 22 players are being invited to attend a training camp to get a chance to play for team USA.Notable players include; Amare Stoudemire, Kobe Bryant, Elton Brand, Dwayne Wade, Paul Pierce, and LeBron James. The big name missing however, is Allen Iverson who despite playing for the 2004 USA Olympic team, was not invited to the training camp. The training camp will take place in mid-July in Las Vegas. This USA is planning to attend the World Championships in Japan and 15 of the 22 will be part of the team."The U.S. team will be coached by Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, who will be assisted by Phoenix Suns head coach Mike D'Antoni, the Portland Trail Blazers ' Nate McMillan and Jim Boeheim of Syracuse University.</div>
I'm shocked by the fact they haven't figured it out:IT TAKES MORE THAN JUST THE BEST PLAYERS TO WIN.They need to build a team with CHEMISTRY, they need to add ROLE PLAYERS, guys who can FIT.Look at the coaching squad- 2 HOF coaches, the reigning COY, and one of the top coaches in Nate- do team USA officials seriously expect these guys to see eye-to-eye?I'd be shocked if Team USA won. We are taking the international competition way too lightly. It's not an All-Star squad we should be sending, it is a TEAM
Well I say Billups is much more a team player than Iverson so that is one big upgrade. Hopefully Marion joins also. Those 2 are both role players and stars.
I heard originally that there were 25 players being invited, 22 in the NBA, 2 in college, and 1 in high school.
I say they just have the entire Pistons teamOr the entire Spurs team Realistically though I'd likePG-Steve Nash/Tony ParkerSG-Richard Hamilton/Bruce BowenSF-Andre Kirilenko/Tayshaun PrincePF-Tim Duncan/Ben WallaceC-Marcus Camby/ShaqThat would be a good fit for international ball, not sure those players are all elgible though since several are international so all USA born team would bePG-Dwayne Wade/Chris PaulSG-Eddie Jones/Andre IguodalaSF-Carmelo Anthony/Ron ArtestPF-Tim Duncan/Ben WallaceC-Marcus Camby/ShaqAs far as Players fitting well in style of Play and Chemistry.

I'm voting for Oden to get it. He is the brightest star, and he will be a face of the NBA for years to come.AI was the most passionate American on the team last year. What a shame.Wheres KG?
It should be good to watch them play. Hopefully they can devolep chemistry this year and win gold or at least silver this year. I mean we have the talent to win it but do we have the chemistry?
