With the hope/understanding that KP would be able to re-sign Bibby this summer? http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...15~3025~61~2797&teams=1~1~1~1~22~22&te=&cash=
Marvin Williams would be a fantastic pickup for us. Don't know how I feel about Bibby, either way I don't think that is near enough for what they would want
Bibby is gonna be an UFA. My thought was that KP might convince (Pritchslap?) Sund into thinking he just might lose Bibby to FA? Of course, KP would then have to convince Billy to re-sign with Portland.
Great trade for Portland. Marvin Williams replaces Outlaw off the bench and can back up power forward better when Webster returns. Mike Bibby would give the team a big upgrade at point guard, for the price of...nothing, really. Frye and Rodriguez are spare parts who aren't ever going to be starter-caliber players. And Bibby is as big an expiring contract as LaFrentz, so it doesn't even affect the team's cap flexibility. Therefore, there's really no incentive for Atlanta to do it, unless they really love Outlaw and Rodriguez, quite out of proportion with those players' actual value.
marvin becomes our best sf and bibby our best pg, for outlaw, borderline nba sergio, and the absolute end of the bench. wtf
If this was ever on the table and Atlanta OKed the deal, it would instantly confirm for me that Kevin did in fact sell his soul to the Devil in exchange for the power to hypnotize people.
Yeah, but it isn't like the players they are getting back are under contract much longer. Frye is a RFA and could easily be gone. Outlaw has a cheap contract, but only for a couple more years, and Sergio is a big downgrade from Bibby. Bibby's improved play is what has made the Hawks better this year despite the loss of Josh Childress. There is no way they trade him for some spare parts that would only make them worse. Unless you think having a PG group or Sergio, Acie Law and Speedy Claxton is anything other than "bad".
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=1006~454~2810&teams=22~15~15&te=&cash= This is my wacky counter proposal, on the condition that the Bucks are likely completely out of the playoff picture with Redd sidelined and with his future uncertain and them already over the cap for the foreseeable future, maybe they'd be willing to part with RJ and start over with a little cap room this summer. Any takers?
I don't think you're getting enough value for Raefs contract. This is better. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=1966~2750~454&teams=22~5~5&te=&cash=
Jefferson has declined too much. He's merely a decent player now, with health risks. As low as I am on Webster, I believe he can reach the level Jefferson is at now. I wouldn't use the cap space that LaFrentz represents on Jefferson.
neither would I, he's pretty bad at defense now. I also think Marvin Williams would be our starting SF instead of coming off the bench. He's pretty underrated and doesn't need to be the focal point to be successfull.
I concede I haven't watched Jefferson play at all this year (aside from his brief encounter with the Blazers last week) I hadn't realized he'd fallen off so much; I'm probably still enamored with the player I saw two years ago who was an active perimeter defender, good rebounder and got into the lane to draw a lot of fouls.
Yeah, I really liked Jefferson 2-3 years ago. Back then he was what Caron Butler is now, give or take.
