Where was your first job? How was it? I am currently working at Jamba Juice, been working there for about 3 weeks now. At first it was a pain in the ass because of the rushes we would get, and the amount of time we would have to make each smoothie. Not knowing things and doing them fast SUCKED! But eventually, I gained confidence and it's pretty fun and simple now. So what are some of your experiences at your first job?
I worked in a basketball camp for kids age K-5. Pretty fun and I earned a lot of money. I had the 1st and 2nd graders and went on to be an assistant coach for their team the following season.
I worked at my dads computer company putting information in to some GPS boxes. I did it mostly for insurance money. My first real job was at a grocery store; No Frills. I worked there about 7 months, but than we moved. It's really fucking easy. You take boxes of food, and put it on the shelves. Than you face which means you make the isles look nice.
Worked for Freightliner during the summers, now I work at a grocery store while I'm going to school. Will graduate in like 7 weeks though, so then I'll be doing accounting stuff
My first job was for Coca Cola. I was a merchandiser...I hated it to death. I basically filled shelves, displays and coolers...built displays...rearranged and condensed backstock of product...it sucked. Yet I held the job for a good 20 months...still my longest tenure at a jobs. Since I lost that job back in June of '06...I've gone through...4 jobs...haha. Though I was at one of them for 13 months and I've been at my current one for almost 8 months.
If you can land a job at Nordstrom...it's a cake walk...well...my job is. Not so sure about working in the actual full line store...but my job in the contact center is cake.
Jeez bro, did you read the title of this thread? It reads "First Job?"...not "Current Job?"...or some shit like that.
Umair, did you get your first paycheck? FICA Anything in the service industry (just not Starbucks). And if you get the job, make it a rule that you will work their for at least three months.
My first job was at Domino's Pizza. It was damn easy but the pay was absolutely terrible. I just took calls, stacked boxes, and swept the floor and I only worked about two hours a day four times a week.
