Good god... if we lose to this team without all those starters, we dont deserve to be mentioned as a playoff team IMO. For the guys who already have the "youth" excuse on cue... not gonna cut it of we lose. This wouldnt be bad loss, it would be a season changing loss. And somehwere Kenny Smith would smile.

    Medical Watch:

    • G Baron Davis (bruised tailbone, strained hamstring) missed his 13th consecutive game but is pointing to a return when the Clippers play the Chicago Bulls.

    • F Zach Randolph (bone bruise left knee) is progressing but no date has been set for his return.

    • C Chris Kaman (plantar fasciitis left foot) remains on schedule to return after next month’s All-Star break.

    • G Mike Taylor (fractured right thumb) has begun doing limited exercises to strengthen his hand.

    • F-C Marcus Camby (sprained left ankle) hopes to return within the next week.

    • G Mardy Collins (strained left calf) is on day-to-day.

    • C Brian Skinner (flu) has been battling illness for the better part of a week.

I would have to agree on this one. Losing to this team would be very bad. Here is the only way I see it happening:

    1) Oden gets in early foul trouble and is limited to 10 minutes, 5 pts, 3 boards.
    2) Thornton dominates LMA on both ends of the court with his quickness and strength
    3) Jordan pulls down another 20 rebounds
    4) Brandon shoots a low percentage and E. Gordon goes off again
    5) Ricky Davis remembers how to play basketball; and
    6) The Blazer bench (Outlaw and Rudy) shoots poorly

I think it would take pretty much all of those things to happen for Blazers to lose. I'm hoping for a 40 point blowout personally.

Yeah, I would agree as well. That team right now is basically Eric Gordon and Al Thornton. There's no reason not to destroy them today.

I just hope hope hope that we don't play down to their level. They play crappy defense. We have to win this one.

Man, look at their projected starting lineup:

    10, Eric Gordon, 6-3, PG, 13.5 ppg, 2.2 apg
    25, Mardy Collins, 6-6, SG, 6.1 ppg, 2.8 apg
    31, Ricky Davis, 6-7, SF, 4.4 ppg, 2.3 apg
    12, Al Thornton, 6-8, PF, 17.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg
    9, D. Jordan, 6-11, C, 3.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg

Combined, those 5 guys are averaging 43 points and 15 rebounds a night. Our starters, by comparison, average 58 points and 27 boards. And that's not even taking into account our bench.

If there's one game to miss this season, this is probably it.

No I completely agree with Mixum on this one. The thing to remember is, any player in the NBA has a lot of pride, and even if they don't play a lot, I would expect them to play hard, because for many of these guys, it is their shot to show what they can do.

MIXUM I sure hope you don't do anything drastic like jump off of a bridge or drop a toaster in the bathtub should the unthinkable happen and the Blazers lose tonight ...

Re: Tonight's game vs Clippers ( a loss would be shameful on our part with their rost

why am i f@#king with people? Cause i said it would be a disgrace to lose this clipper team?

um if you watched the first half of the wiz game where we had an 8 pt lead over a team who didnt score for almost 7 minutes. Playing any bad team scares me. i mean we are playing an all star d-league lineup tonight. That should be a 20 point win for the blazers wether its home or away. Im sorry but if roy and aldridge are considerd top talent... you cant lose this game tonight.

im just saying if we lose or barely win...i dont wanna hear youth excuses. this in the past is game where we we lose. and if you watch blazer games...its always the average - middle of road- scrubs who have great games against our awful defense.

enter tyrone lue, barnes, garcia, ect. this clipper team has the perfect makeup of those type players.

That roster makes the Wiz team we played on Saturday look like the Jordan-era Bulls. Losing tonight would a new level of demoralizing.

So which excuses would you prefer? I'd like to line some up ahead of time should the need arise.

Doomed if we lose, doomed if we win.
We lose, it's the biggest travesty in sports. We win, we didn't win big enough by like 50 or something.

Does anyone know what channel the game is on? For some reason I can't find it at all on my TV... its at 7:30pm, right? CSN has Courtside tonight for some reason instead of the game, and then a replay of the OSU vs Florida game w/ Gregory.

They probably just messed up and I should set my DVR to record it anyway, right?

Depends on if you actually want to watch a competitive basketball game or not.
