Oden went 7/7, generally stayed out of foul trouble and didn't get the ball that much, especially in the second half. Sortof crazy, unless Nate is going stealth mode with Oden, to unleash him on an unsuspecting NBA.
But how can you argue with the results? ESPECIALLY in the second half? Oden was effective, efficient, and blocked/altered a ton of shots. That's EXACTLY what he was drafted to do.
That was such an insane and unexpected play, I thought the ball slipped from Sergio's hands because it couldn't possibly have been intentional. This season has been tough because I know we need to cull the herd, but I love this roster from stem-to-stern.
What was so beautiful about it was letting the inbounds pass bounce to save that extra half second. His BBIQ is tremendous.
Third quarter results weren't so great. I'm happy with the game result, but giving Oden more touches wouldn't have made the team any less likely to win, IMO, and developing his offensive game is pretty important. I'm not saying this was a critical error, it's just a pattern. Oden is effective and efficient enough to warrant more playing time and chances, so it surprises me Nate is so conservative with him.
We've got a very nice 2.5 game lead on Utah, who's No. 9. And more importantly, the Jazz have three more losses than us. This separation is nice!
Okay, I want to know which of those guys were posters on S2. I'm picking XericX as the Fabio-wannabe.
And then the air-brake stop to make Jones fly past him! Loved it. But it's true that there were several big second-half plays that really started the landslide. I don't care if it was against the Clips -- it was a great way to avenge a home loss, with a bunch of great highlights. We can pretend that the game started at halftime, just like the Blazers did.
I hear you, but I remember hearing Channing talking about this on the radio last week, saying that Oden's touches were directly proportional to the pace that Nate wanted to impose on a game. Lots of drops to Greg = slower pace for the Blazers. My guess is that Nate decided to try and speed things up and push things in the second half, leading to fewer touches for Oden.
I think xericx is agentpetrovic here, and he's the guy in the first pic on the lower left with the Drazen shirt on.
