I worked in the women's shoe department at the store my dad worked at. I could have done without it, but I got money that way, so I wasn't complaining.

To get job experience. If you work more like 6 months you could possibly use it as a reference if you need another job somewhere down the line. If it makes you that misrerable, you can quit sooner than later. It's up to you.

Ugh. Same for me. Worked there for two years. It was fun at first but there was a managerial change and then all of the people my age slowly started trickling away and it got really shitty. Haven't had a job since but I never want to work in retail again.

I did get my first paycheck, but it only covered like a week of training so it wasn't that much. I'm getting my first official paycheck today!

Ofcourse the pay is gonna suck if you are only doing 8 HOURS A WEEK!

After my first year of uni, I worked at a Sears warehouse emptying/filling trucks with fridges, dishwashers, washers/dryers, sofas, etc. Was pretty tiring for a scrawny dude like myself.

First job was when I was 16, as a bagger/carriage boy at a supermarket. I still work for the same company after multiple promotions and a 400% salary increase.
