MIXUM- now that the Lakers have lost to the Bobcats, does that mean they won't sniff the playoffs?

That sucks for Wallace. That was a cheap shot and I suspect that he will get 1 game for that and a nice fine. The karma was that the Lackers got beat in their house!

Damn, I feel for Crash. he plays with so much heart, but his body can only take so much, then you get cheap shotted like that...
I wish he was only out for our game, but he looks to be out for a while..I would still trade for him too

But we're in 5th place and 22 teams in the league have a worse record than us so you should give us a little more respect than you do. One bad win to a good Bobcats team shouldn't discount that. After all, it was the Jazz who got blown out by the Thunder. They should miss the playoffs before we do.

holy crap...on the local broadcast there was a mic right by where he fell and you could just hear him loudly moaning in agony.

I dont know what to think about this in terms of the ACTUAL intentions of Bynum. I saw it twice and it seemed like Bynum was going for a rather intentional foul to stop the drive to the hoop. By the rule its absolutely a flagrant because intent has nothing to do with it and Bynum wasnt making a play for the ball really. Both players were moving towards each other which made it worse.

Bynum will probably get suspended a game which I can deal with but I dont think he honestly wanted to injure Wallace

Yeah, this might lower GW's trade value, so it might be more likely that we trade for him. Who knows?

if your trading for a hurt g wallace and its a broken rib or even a bruised rib (didnt see the fall but by the looks of post from the newspaper he at least bruised it) hes most likely not going to play the rest of the season your going to be trading him for next season and pray that he still holds to what hes been doing this year. although i wouldnt mind trading for him as it might free up that log jam a little.

from personal experience i have cracked ribs right now its not too bad just walking around i dont think mines very severe like this might be but i know from playing a little bit of basketball with my friends if i run into a screen i have to take a minute to shake off the pain to my ribs.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Yeah, I'd trade for him even if were going to miss the rest of this season, so long as it was a relatively normal injury, one that shouldn't be career-altering or have a high likelihood of complications.

Of course, the price would have to be lower due to the injury.

That sucks. I've enjoyed Gerald Wallace ever since he was on Sacramento. I'm sure he'll recover, but just mark it down as another injury...he's had way more than enough to get the tag of injury prone. I think it was a pipe dream that we'd get him anyways.

To be honest, I think we MIGHT make a move with RLEC, but if we're making a big roster move to acquire a very good caliber player, I think it will be in the off-season in something like a draft-day trade. Granger won't be moved and I don't think that Butler will be either. I have no interest in Josh Howard, and my interest in Richard Jefferson goes down every day that he gets older. Mike Miller has been horrible this season. I don't think Hedo is going anywhere given his contract and the success of their team. Deng can't shoot from outside. Gay isn't getting out of Memphis that easily. Carmelo is a thug. Dunleavey Jr. can't play defense. Maggette is poor from outside and rocks the Curry Line. Lakers will lock up Trevor Ariza soon. Marion has an attitude. So does Vince Carter. And Artest. McGrady can't stay healthy. Battier isn't much of an upgrade at this point. Peja is 53 years old. SJax wouldn't be bad but he's a chucker.

I don't know about Wallace. Given his injury history and Bobcat's being a thrifty franchise, they may move him to reduce salary for cheaper parts. But are you willing to give up TO and Bayless to get him back? I'm not so sure about that one, because I think that Bayless is the PG for the next long span and he was a steal to be able to essentially get him at pick #13.

Tell me. Who do you want that you think we can reasonably acquire and for how much. I would be down for Wallace despite his poor outside shooting depending on not giving up Bayless or Rudy (or Batum, Roy, LMA, Oden and Pryz).

We have a close to complete team. We're missing an SF so we're doing it by committee. Someone needs to step up between Webster, Batum and Outlaw. I think Batum will be there one day. But that's not good enough for the next two years. If that means taking someone like Richard Jefferson (now that Redd is out they might be willing) then okay.

Ideally we grab Gay, Granger, or Butler. Maybe take a chance that Trevor Ariza will work out (I knew that was a steal of a trade for LAL!). As you can see, I'm not too big on a lot of the players left out there. Anyhow...this post is too long. :dunno:

When a player commits an intentional foul that seriously injures someone, they should miss significant action to deter that sort of BS dirty play. A one game suspension is a joke... this isn't football.
