Um he said doubt Melo, which doesn't mean he's saying it as a fact. Just he can't envision Kobe winning another title. The doubt leaves that little maybe he will.

it's a known fact cuz the guy's in his prime and has a .500 record. how can you be the best ever??? mj had rings at this stage of his career. kobe WILL never be thought of as the best ever but he will be known as great, just not greatest.

That's well over .500, right? You want a real fact? Jordan has never had over 40 wins in a season without Scottie Pippen. Is it fair that I'm judging him with only three years without Pippen? Probably not...but it's what you're doing with Kobe as he's had only a year and a half without Shaq.

RD, why are you trying to defend kobe so much? do you actually think he is better than MJ was?And Kobe can't get 55 wins, so is Scottie Pippen better than him?

I have to defend Kobe so much because I'm used to everyone bashing him, both before and after the allegations...and even now, whether he sits the entire fourth after a 62 point blowout, or he stays in and wins the game with 81, after being down by 22.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (nba dogmatist @ Mar 5 2006, 12:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>And Kobe can't get 55 wins, so is Scottie Pippen better than him?</div>Then maybe you see my point.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BALLAHOLLIC @ Mar 5 2006, 12:29 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Yes but he never had much of a coach before than either.</div>The same can be argued about Phil. When was the last time Phil had one star? Jordan/Pippen, Kobe/Shaq...

Why does everyone assume when we defend kobe against false allegations that we think he's better than MJ? It's pretty annoying actually.

People are hooked on LeBron, but James' game resembles Magic Johnson's more than it does Jordan, with the exception of the power dunking (and not even Bron's dunks mimick Jordan's).

I think we should put any Jordan comparisons to rest. His legacy is a great one that I dont think anyone has done anything remotely close to what he has done deservant of being compared in any way to Jordan. His competive drive and sheer ability in all aspects of the game is was something that has never been seen before and will never again take place in the same magnitude. His affect on the game is unmatched and his name is sononomous with championship glory and excellence. Nobody, in my opinion has earned the right to be compared to him and nobody has come close to accomplishing the things he has accomplised. He has done so much to make basketball what it is today and paved the way for so many people who followed in his wake. He carried an entire sport on his back for years and is a global icon to this day and will be for a very long time to come. Every decade has its stars, but Jordan is an incredibly special player who only comes along once, and this time is gone. Other supreme talents will come along, but none will have the affect on the game that number 23 had during his tenure in the league.

Of all time? This is clearly a lack of knowledge of the history of the game and an insult to those who came before him.. It has nothing to do with liking him or not, I am not a Kobe fan, but I respect and recognize what he has done, you need to do the same with the greats that came before him..Oh yeah, work on that grammar buddy, youre not on AIM..

"All the legends werent that good?" WTF are you talking about, or even smoking? "kobe actually is the greatest and u know it and u can see it", wow, that statement has so much fact to it that i just might believe it. You're just one of those Kobe <Censored>-riding, Laker bandwagon fans, that hasnt jumped off the wagon just for the fact that you dont want people calling you a bandwagon fan.
