    indeed. He feels so threatened by the popularity of MMA. He's a boxing purist who isn't open to other forms of combat sports.

    At the end of the article Merchant agreed to attend an Affliction MMA event to the tune of $100,000.

    Affliction might actually do it the way they burn through money.

    Dana White claims that while the $5-million figure Merchant threw out is bunk, he knows that Affliction paid Oscar 20% of their PPV revenue to involve Golden Boy in the event. So for those keeping track, that's 50% to the PPV provider, 20% to Golden Boy, and another percentage to Fedor's camp.

    Apparently Affliction isn't interested in money--which is good, because soon they won't have any to worry about.
