With our bench clearly in putrid shape, there are some recent free agents that have been made avaible that caught my attention as possible additions to the club...-Tim Thomas-Thomas has been mentioned most frequently and is rumored to be going to Phoenix after getting bought out by Chicago. However, Phoenix just signed Andre Barrett, filling up their roster spot expected to be used on Thomas..Could he still be coming to Jersey? Stay tuned..-Jim Jackson-The man released by Phoenix who was expected to be replaced by Thomas. A solid veteran player who could help us bolster the bench and provide a backup for VC and RJ.-Jon Barry- A veteran shooter recently made avaible. Could help bring some instant scoring and veteran leadership and experience..-Marcus Haislip- Im not positive where he is now, he may be on a team, but if i remember correctly, hes still a free agent. A young, athletic big man who was drafted in the first round by Milwaukee a couple years back..Could be an interesting player to look at.-Marcus Fizer-Has been tearing up the D-league and was always a solid contributer for the Bulls when given minutes. Has had some injury problems, but if he is healthy, he could provide some low post scoring off the bench..There are some interesting players currently avaible, and I would like to see Thorn make a run at AT LEAST one of these guys. Our bench obviously needs improvement and we need to give rest to the big three down the stretch so they have something left in the tank for the playoff run...

Looks like Thomas is definatly going to Phoenix, that roster spot they gave to Barret wasnt their only open one, so they still have room for Thomas. Reports state he is expected to be introduced within a day or two with the Suns and could actually appear in a game for the club on Friday...On the Nets side of things: They have expressed interest in Fizer and apparently denied interest in Jim Jackson, the 35 year old swingman released by Phoenix yesterday.

Worse comes to worse and we've lost $600 000, or whatever the lowest amount is. Least they are some bigs.

Jon Barry is considering retirement. A name you missed is Penny Hardaway. Also, on Haislip, guy can't seem to stay on in the NBA, I don't think he's a reliable pickup.

I really like Haislip, he is a very athletic, young big man, and I think he could be succesful with us. Fizer has always interested me, and I would like us to express interest in him. Both would be good additions, and hopefully we get at least one player before the playoff roster deadline is here..Another option to add to the list of top free agents is Howard Eisley and of course, Latrell Sprewell...<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rok @ Mar 2 2006, 04:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Jon Barry is considering retirement. Penny is, indeed another option, and another guy I left out is Hoiberg, who said he would cosider signing with a team other than the T-Wolves to finish out the year..So here is an expanded list of the top free agents:Tim ThomasMarcus FizerLatrell SprewellMarcus HaislipPenny HardawayJim JacksonJon BarryFred HoibergHoward EisleyJay Williams?Robert "Tractor" TraylorThat just about sums up my list of the top free agents, if you have anyone to add, dont hesitate to post it here. I hope the Nets attempt to sign one, if not two of the above players to improve the bench and help them down the stretch and in the playoffs..

I think all of those guys would be great. We really shouldn't be concerned about defense when our bench can only score four points against the Wolves.
