What player on your team, that going into the season or after getting them off a trade, you didn't know would help out your team so much. What player has been kind of a suprsing hero even if they aren't the star player

Tie between Eddie House and Boris Diaw. I didn't expect anything from Diaw but he has turned into a star here. He does everything so well. He is a triple-double threat, good defender and can play pretty much every position. He's amazing.I expected offense from House but not like this. Some games he is just so amazing with his shooting. He is my favorite player and has saved us with his shooting in the 4th quarter in 5 or 6 games.

yea the knicks suck but i really had no clue that channing frye was going to have this good of a season. i would've been happy with 8pts 5 rebs but he's puttin up 13pts and 6rebs. him and the other three rookies are our only hope.

hmm.. Perk, Gomes. Delonte has been exceeding my expectations. I knew he'd be good, but not this good. Same goes for Gomes. Perk just came out of no where for me. I thought he'd be an okay rebounder/defender, but he's a freaking beast!

Diop and Griffin. Both got plugged into the starting line and we've won 19 of 21 since. Their the glue guys in our starting line, that hustle and will defend and let our main 3 of Terry, Dirk and Howard work on offense.

Rafer Alston- I firmly believe that Mike James is a bonehead like Francis and will never be the starting PG on a contender. Rafer came in and showed that the Rockets are cursed with PGs.

For the Heat it would have to be Antoine Walker. I was expecting the selfish, chuck it up player. But no. The Heat got a player that actually makes legit decisions, and a guy that will do anything to win.

I would have to say the suprise hero off of our bench would have to be Maurice Evans. He brings shooting and athleticism off of our bench that we really need.

For the Raptors - I knew Mike James would be a solid presence, but considering he is now a 20 point threat per night, he is going to be making major money next year. Also, Charlie V has been incredible. I saw him playing well, but his offensive reputoire is much wider than I believed at first. He is not only a post player, but can stroke three pointers as well.

He has helped the Heat quite a bit this year and now im not really regretting his signing.

Mike James, when he came in I knew he was a solid 12 ppg guy and a good shooter but when he joined our team, he has just took the reins and become a lights out shooter, even more so with the game on the line. Now like Marshall last year, when he takes a 3, I expect it to go in the majority of the time. He has also been a good driver. And really, without him we would just fold in clutch situatiuons. I think the guy is very important to our team. And I think he is a very goodd player, even though we will have to part with him soon.

For the Wiz its Antonio Daniels, yeah, he started off slow early in the season but has picked up since then. I still think he's not worth his contract but I like what he brings off the bench: veteran leadership, penetration and playmaking.

For one little reason- THE REGGIE BLOCK!!!! Also, he is a 14ppg scorer, and shuts down the best swingman-type player on the opposing team. (I.E.-Tmac, Joe Johnson, Ron Artest)

Deng is surprising me, I just wish he could get more minutes we really rotate our forwards constantly, right when Deng gets in a cycle they rotate him out at the wrong time. He still averages great stats for his minutes though.

For me it would have to be,Eric Snow: I didn't know how he would do with getting more playing time since Jeff left. But he has been great. Sure he isn't a scorer, but he is an above average passer, He is a great defender, he has basketball IQ, and he can set up the offense well. He has done a lot for this team defensively and he has reallly suprised me. I have had to stand up for this guy a lot because he doesn't get the credit that he should.Flip Murray: I was pretty scared how this season was going to turn out since Hughes got sidelined. He has come in to this city and given the team something to work with. He can create off the dribble, he has energy, and he isn't too bad of a defender. He also hit the game winning shot against the Bulls recently.I could go on, but those are my top two suprises.

Im gonna go with Clifford Robinson here to throw out a different name. Everybody knows that the Nets have issues in terms of their low post players, and Nenad Krstic is a big part of the success the Nets have experienced thus far. He has improved tremendously and has been a terrific player for us with tons of potential, however, one big issue early on his career is his tendency to get into foul trouble frequently. The team really depends on Robinson to play in such scenarios and give rest to both Krstic and Collins. Robinson has been very consistent and although he is getting up there in age, he has been a great help off the bench and had provided defense and leadership..
