They played each other today, lakers won but both of them had beastly games. Al Jefferson - 13-27, 8-11fts, 34pts, 13rbs, 1ast, 1stl, 4blk, 1to, 4fls, 42min Andrew Bynum - 10-15, 7-8ft, 27pts, 15rbs, 1ast, 0stl, 2blk, 2to, 4fls, 30min good game from both of them. i didnt see the game but i should of at least for this match up. kobe got 30 pts too. him and foye went at it, foye was 3 away from 30pts. jefferson got the better of the matchup imo. bynum didnt need as many shots and time but still jeferson got 30 pts with 30 shots. 4blks and a steal for you fantasy owners like myself. lakers season high in pts vs minny, 132-119. too bad al couldnt prevent that. they need taller bigs next season, at least 1. theyre set for the playoffs next season.
Jefferson played 12 more minutes than Bynum (one quarter), and did a lot of his damage on Gasol, during garbage minutes when the game was out of reach. When the two matched up, Bynum got the upper hand.
yeah, I can see it from both sides...since Big Al was under constant double (Bynum and Gasol collapsed on him) and sometimes triple teams inside...So that makes Big Al's numbers very viable in comparison. But Like I mentioned before..That dropback hook-floater of Big Al's is crazy effective! 'Sota has no interior D, other than a block sprinkled her and there. So there was no consistant pressure on Bynum. Until Minnesota gets a big body to clog up the lane, there will continue to be opposing bigs taking it inside...and even quick slashing gaurds (ie; Tony Parker...ugh..) But I'm not knocking either...they both had equally great games IMO...
