Bosh available?

According to Screamin' A., Chris Bosh has told Toronto's management that he will not re-sign with the Raptors in 2010. As such, his name might be thrown around now as the Raptors might want to salvage any sort of value for him, instead of letting him walk. Would we be interested in perhaps upgrading from Aldridge to Bosh, or is KP too infatuated with baking and chemistry to make a drastic move now?

besides, he's going to want a max re-up right away....sure, it'd be great but is this the huge upgrade that would put us over the edge? not sure.

 

Even better, in that case. It would eliminate any chance of him walking.

Hard to say, but I tend to think that we would be closer to a title (at the present) with Bosh rather than Aldridge.

 

I'd definitely pull the trigger if Bosh would re-up right away. That's the best-case scenario, IMO. The only reason not to upgrade Aldridge into Bosh is the risk that Bosh wouldn't re-up, wanting to test 2010 free agency.

I would not trade Aldridge for Bosh. Keep the core together.

 

whether he's traded or not he will play out his current contract and become a FA in summer 2010 because he can't get a true NBA max deal until then. he won't be signing an extension before then.

 

Best case scenario: We trade Aldridge and parts to get Bosh and we go from a solid B-B+ player to an A-A+ player at power forward and he resigns with us in a year and a half

worst case scenario: We trade Aldridge and parts and get Bosh and he bounces in 2010 for parts unknown, leaving us with "?"

Null option: we keep Aldridge, he continues to play at a sub-allstar level (or improves?) and his high post game blends pretty well with Oden and Bosh resigning or bolting becomes somebody else's problem.

I know Bosh would be an upgrade to Aldridge, but the risks seem kind of high and I'm not so sure it's worth it ...

Tough call.

 

why break up a promising core of Roy, LMA and Oden. Don't get greedy, we'll blossom! And with Bosh being unrestricted? no thanks!

Wasn't there a thread about this a while back? I like Bosh a lot, but he's smaller than Aldridge and not the defender that LaMarcus is. He's a better rebounder - but that's not an area of weakness for this team. He scores more, but watching him, I'm not over-impressed. It's not like he's got a great low post game. I get the impression it's more because he gets the ball a lot.

He is a great guy, though. But overall, I think LaMarcus matches up with our rivals better and he's a lot more versatile defensively. Remember that LaMarcus is one of the league leaders in +/-.

They train together - right? What we need is an insider to report on the head-to-heads they've had.

 

Now just think about how cool it is to say that it's actually a tough call.

 

they are gonna have to keep him and hope he re-signs. if he really told them he is going to leave, then they should deal him for whatever they can get at next years deadline unless they look like a championship contender.

 

Irony would be if Amar'e is traded to Raptors for Bosh.

 

It's not a toughie. If it's there, you pull the trigger. The problem is, Raptors would demand more than just Aldridge. It would be at least LA+Raef+Rudy.

 

No, it is a tough call. You're trading Aldridge, Rudy, and RLEC for a position that we arguably don't need help at. Why? Yes, Bosh is a great player, but why not put Rudy and RLEC towards a small forward (a position of need)? Many analysts are saying that Aldridge is on the verge of being an All-Star. It's a stupid trade. You're giving up two young talented players for a guy who could leave and sign somewhere else in one year.

 

I meant if it was Aldridge+Raef (Salary purposes) for Bosh straight up it would be a no brainer. If we had to add Rudy, then yes, it would be harder.
