Here is China's pride and joy: http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=ap-birdsnestfuture&prov=ap&type=lgns
Strange, the little girl in the photo does not look Chinese. Or were you refering to the article? In which case your analysis is terribly faulty because neither the phrase "China's pride and joy" nor "the pride and joy of China" were used in the article. If you detect notes of sarcasm and hostility, I can understand why. But they are not directed at, nor were they intended to be directed at you personally. If you think otherwise, I apologize. Just know that I was venting a very personal pet peeve. JAFO
The point of the article was that China spent all this money to put it's best face on to the world, and now the primary symbol of the Olympics--the Bird's Nest--is falling into disrepair. Basically, the Olympics were a Potemkin Village. Posting the article had nothing to do with any little girl.
