Feb 2nd AT New Orleans Gametime 5 pm Pacific Time KGW TV Ch 8 The Blazers begin a three game road trip Monday night in the Big Easy, in a game that will be televised locally on Channel 8. Wednesday night they will travel to Dallas, before heading to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder for the first time this year and wrap up the 3 game trip. A dissapointing 92-77 loss was the result when the Hornets visited the Rose Garden on Jan 2nd, in a game marked by a scuffle between Joel Pryzbilla and Tyson Chandler. You can watch the highlights and the fight by clicking here. After Joel was fined for his part in the fight his grandmother threw a fit and decided she would write David Stern every week until the league refunded his money. No word yet on his response, or lack thereoff. Hilton Armstrong has been starting at center for the Hornets as Tyson Chandler has been out with a sprained left ankle. Chandler has indicated he thinks he may be able to return to the lineup sooner than expected, but Hornets Coach Byron Scott remains cautious and said he planned to stick by what he said last week about not expecting Chandler to play until after the All-Star break. Injured Portland point guard Steve Blake missed Saturdays game against the Jazz and at this writing is expected to sit this game out. As usual, Spanish Chocolate himself, Sergio Rodriguez, will fill in for him as the starting point guard. Projected starters Portland Trailblazers Sergio Rodriguez -PG Brandon Roy-SG Nic Batum-SF LaMarcus Aldridge-PF Greg Oden-Center Projected starters New Orleans Hornets Chris Paul-PG Rasual Butler-SG Peja Stojakovic-SF David West-PF Hilton Armstrong-Center As always there will be pregame, gametime, and postgame discussion of the game in the gameday forum If you happen to miss the game you can click here and catch the video recap and hdtv highlights of the game
You know what really sucks? The Laker game in March is on CSN, and not KGW. Someday, before I die, I hope to get CSN on Dish.
If we can somehow win this game, that'd be huge to get into fourth. If we lose, I don't think I'd be terribly disappointed though. No Chandler will be great, but I'd much rather them have West out. Should be a good one, and a game that big G.O. can certainly have a good game against if he can stay in the game. I think he had a good game last time at New Orleans.
Would be sweet to get some revenge for them beating us in Portland earlier this year (without Roy btw)
This is a must win game for us...if we hope to catch the Lakers The Lakers schedule has them playing 12 of their next 20 games against teams with winning records and 13 of their next 19 games are on the road. The Spurs start an 8 game road trip Monday. I think it's time for another 15 game win streak.
You're the guy who walks up to the super model and asks for her number with her boyfriend standing right there... aren't you?
Ehhhh not really. Turiaf is a shorter, high energy, shot blocker. He was giving West fits. He has more girth than Travis or LMA, but he's shorter than Oden and Aldridge. It would be interesting to see someone like Diogu go against West.
This is a HUGE game. If we could pull it off it would mean a great deal and possibly start us on a significant win streak.
i think kp said it best when he said " diogu cant gaurd this buffet table." west would eat him alive. LMA should give him fits, and if not, he will kill us.
We don't need to shut down West or Paul. All we need to do is keep them from blowing up, and keep the rest of their team from catching fire. Without Chandler, they are going to be soft in the middle, and I think the Blazers should have the advantage. I think a team of Aldridge and Outlaw would be the best to check West. As for Paul, I have no idea.
