    Wow, I only ever lived in Newport...there are less black people there than Portland.

    Go up one of the hundreds of "highways", though...I don't know about Providence and Warwick.

    I've heard this before, but I never really understood it. I went to Buckman grade school. Now it's an arts school,
    but when I went it was a long way from that. It was about half or a bit more black, and it's not deep in
    NE or N Portland either. Plenty of blacks in the city. Not many in the burbs, though, I'll agree with that.
