    What is the point?

It seems like they want to keep Silva active but by giving him Cote, Leites, etc., are they just wasting the opportunity they have with him? Even a rematch with Okami has limited appeal.

Silva needs to move up to light heavyweight permanently. Nobody at middleweight is challenging him, especially not now with Denis "Mental Lapse" Kang screwing up his UFC debut, and Mousasi likely to fight for Affliction in five/six months.

Michael Bisping might eventually earn a shot at Silva--though he is going to be the underdog against Henderson--but that will take another six or eight months.

Why not have him vacate the title and move into a hyper competitive LHW division? If he's serious about retiring in a year or two, the UFC needs to get the best fights out of him while they can.

you think Franklin drops back down to 185 if Silva moves up? haha. But seriously I totally agree, unless theyre gonna set up a super fight at 185 between GSP and Silva, they should have him move up to 205 permanently. There is nothing else for him at 185.

I want a Hendo/Silva rematch. I don't think Hendo would try and strike with Silva again.

I also want to see Silva up at LHW. But I know he doesn't want to permanently move up because he wants Machida to get the belt.
