That was hilarious watching Scott just go into deep freeze and watch his team go down with no help at all from their coach. Any coach in the league could have held onto the win for 12 minutes with some defensive changes and timeouts, but he didn't even try to earn his money.
I had basically given up and turned off the NO feed so I wouldn't have to listen to those shitheads take anymore shots at us, started puttering around to a few non BBall websites and was about to go get something to eat when I refreshed the game thread and the last post was about Paul being out. So I turned the feed back on to see what happened and I'm promptly treated to an unfuckingbelievable comeback!!!! That whole forth quarter I was sitting in the most awkward position possible(that I assume in every 4th quarter because I'm so superstitious) and I couldn't move a muscle for fear of jinxing it... Jerryd Bayless is a human hand grenade of heart and balls, seeing him recklessly attack the basket with no fear is my favorite thing on this planet.
Damn, those Hornets announcers sound like jerks. Even our homer announcers never go that far. Why the hell are they be such douchebags? I might understand a little (very, very little) if Roy was a jackass like Garnett, but Roy is probably one of the nicest All-Stars. There's no need to belittle Roy for one off night.
Rudy isn't necessarily the fastest guy, but I defy anyone to find an NBA player who reacts quicker. I can't count the number of long rebounds he gets just because he sees it coming. What game was it when he got a huge rebound on a second-to-last play by just snatching it away from a big guy when we were ahead by about 1? He contributes a lot on defense even if he gives you a heart attack. If this team ever puts it all together so that all our players have good games at once, I can't see a team in the league that could beat us.
Hey HCP, do you know if they are going to replay this game at any time? I know they usually don't replay the games on KGW, but i hope there's an exception for this one.
What's up with the bitter NO announcers. I mean, I can understand them being bitter NOW, but they were dogging Roy and the entire Blazers team from the opening tip. A lot of the statements they made were just plain false (like the Blazers being turnover prone because they are a young team - not true, they have the 5th fewest TOs in the league). I hate it when people who get paid to know better don't do their research and spout shit like it's a fact, when it's not. Oh well, we won't need to listen to those d-bags again this year. BNM
My Grandma always told me to never turn off the game, because you might miss something amazing..glad she passed that trait onto me..I am still is disbelief. I don't remember a comeback like this, let alone on the road, since the Drexler days of 91 and 92.
Question: I have NBA league pass broadband but they black out all the games on NBATV for me. Usually I can watch the archived games after work, but tonight I missed the whole damn game and I have no way to watch it and it sounds like a helluva game. is there a website anyone knows of where I could watch this game even though it was on NBATV?
Dang, I totally forgot that Joel played tremendous D on West in the 4th, basically shutting him down. Without Joel's incredible defensive effort tonight, I don't know if we would have won this game. Thank you Joel.
And it's not like he got picked over someone more deserving on their team. They have basically the same record as the Blazers (worse, now - tee hee), but got two all-stars to our one. I don't get the hate. Well, after tonight I'm sure they'll hate the Blazers even more, but now they have a reason. Without Paul, the Hornets are a very, very mediocre team - at best. Kind of like Utah without Boozer and Kirilenko. But, hey injuries happen. Nobody rolled over for the Blazers when Roy was out, or when Oden missed all of last year and six game earlier this season. The difference is the Blazers continued to compete without Roy. NOH totally caved without Paul. They deserved to loose. BNM
A couple of years ago (Roy's rookie year?) Portland came back from 27 down in the 2nd quarter to win against NO at home in Portland. At the time I think it was the 2nd largest comeback in NBA history after at least 1 quarter played in a game. FWIW.
