Nah, it's only a blowout when we play the crappy teams like us. We basically get blown out. When we play the good teams, we hang in there pretty close, unless it's on the 2nd of a back-to-back.
Took the Spurs to overtime. Nice! Had we more rebounding and better defense, we'd probably win, but since we suck at both, we aren't in a position to do any damage when that high % offense isn't there. When I mean high % offense, it includes being high % at the foul line. Also, a team with more team fouls is less likely to play physical D which results in easier baskets.
I hate to say it but Jackson really sucked in this game down the stretch. I know it sounds crazy to pick on him because his stats for the game look really good, and for 3 quarters he was good, but late in the 4th and in overtime he put on quite a display of selfish, shoot-first basketball (with one exception of a nice interior pass to Biedrins). It's like if he gets just a little bit hot he just thinks the floodgates are permanantly open and he can jack up any crazy Horse shot and it will go in. This team is never going to win with Jackson as "The Man", and Crawford and Maggette willing to give it a try any chance they get. And yeah, OK, Turiaf did a really nice job on Duncan tonight, but why the hell did Biedrins only play 22 minutes? Why not play both together instead of starting Azubuike at PF and staying small the entire game? Morrow and Randolph each with a DNP, I'm so sick of this crap. I don't blame Randolph for looking for a new agent who can get him out of this town ASAP. I know I should be happy we took a top team to overtime but we always find a way to lose these games and Nelson's decisions just continue to be perplexing and frustrating.
