Ditto. The only thing better than participating in game threads is not participating in them and reading every entry after you know the outcome of the game. It's very, very telling. :)

Totally agree. If tipping a rebound to another player on your team was an actual stat, Rudy would not only lead our team, but he'd likely be top 10 in the league. He does it all the time, and it's an extremely valuable asset he brings to our team. And it's overlooked by many.

I think I kept a pretty even keel, although I pretty much resigned myself to us losing, I stuck it out. The refs were a real buzz kill.

You didn't say any thing in this thread that I wasn't thinking while watching the game.

It's the "F%#K the Blazers!" attitude that I find bothersome. It's totally normal to get discouraged during a bad loss (that turned in to a win!)

Well, all teams have ups and downs. We just don't play very well, historically, in New Orleans. Pair that with the refs and it pretty much spelled doom for the Blazers. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Paul went down. I hope it isn't serious, because Paul is one of my favorite players in the league to watch, but I won't lose sleep over him missing half of one game.

    This ++

I didn't get a chance to watch the game tonight as the shit hit the fan at work. :D And I didn't have the patience to wait and watch it later tonight on the DVR so I just checked the score, saw we won, then read this thread for pure comedy!

Touche. I will admit to occasionally being completely drunk and irrational. Today I'm much more level headed, coming off a bad hangover from the super bowl.

EDIT: In my defense, I never said "fuck the blazers!" :)

Its a heat of the moment kind of thing.

Like that one time I said I was cancelling my season tickets when KP traded Zach and got squat back for him. Yeah I was pretty damn short-sighted.

And not a lick of defense.

The thing about Bayless tonight, is that in addition to his offensive production, his 1-on-1 defense was intense.

While it was a different team that year (Roy's rookie year), the biggest reason why one could argue that Jerryds game was more impressive was that it came in a win.

Does anyone know how many times Sergio followed up that game with similar games?

    3 Steals + 4 rebounds = defense.

As Kingspeed likes to say, learn the game. Then post.

Why everyone feels they have to exagerrate Bayless's foul-prone stabs at defense as something better than average is beyond me. He's a good player who will get better, but he makes a lot of defensive rookie mistakes, can't get through a pick for the life of him, and rarely stops penetration by his opponent.

I'm thrilled with his potential, but his team defense has been less than average so far, and his one-on-one defense about average for a rookie.

And offensively, except for nice spurts in 3 out of the last 10 games, he's nowhere to be found.

    I sort of disagree.

The reason we came back tonight was because of Bayless' defense on Daniels, and Joel's defense on West. (scoring points helped too, but trading baskets wouldn't have done any good) Bayless and Joel took the Hornets out of the game. THAT is why Jerryd's game is more impressive than Sergio's.

Isn't that two more than the one "water into wine" game that you constantly reference from Sergio's rookie season?
