Just because of the fact that it's the first game Bynum is out with this knee injury, and Kobe picks it up like this definitely gives a strong case for MVP. Actually, the injury to Bynum may give Kobe an edge over LeBron in the long run just because Kobe has to pick it up scoring wise and really take over some games like this one. In the next 8-12 weeks, don't be surprised to see Kobe's PPG rise significantly.
Kobe is simply pissed. Congrats to him. Personally (and i think Kobe would agree), i think that Kobe would hands down trade in this 61 point performance for less time that Bynum is out. D*mn. I hope he could do this against the Celtics or Cavs.
That makes no sense. That is the most common sense statement I think I've read at JBB/S2 since I've signed up in April '03. I think Kobe would sit out a week if it meant Andrew would come back completely healthy in one month.
Good call on Kobe killing the Knicks Mamba. What a game by Kobe. I saw the highlights and he was making some ridiculous shots. He also did something LeBrick will NEVER do, and that's go 20/20 from the line. I have a hunch Kobe is going to vault to the top of the MVP talk here in the coming weeks if the Lakers continue to play well without Bynum, which they should, by all means.
Oh no doubt, Kobe is red hot now and he's in the MVP talks again. If he can best LeBron in wins by just a bit at the end of the year, I think he's the favorite.
