On December 25th, both Santa Claus and the Dallas Mavericks came to town. Santa handed out gifts, and the Mavericks handed Portland a 102-94 loss. We have an NBATV video recap and highlight reels from the game you can view if you click here. Its anyones guess which Porltand team will show up in Dallas. The one that pulls themselves together and plays tough from the opening tip, or the one that takes much of the first half to decide what they are going to be doing.

The Blazers picked up a nice win Monday night in New Orleans, coming from behind and beating the Hornets 97-89, after Chris Paul went down with an injured groin. The Blazers were led by LaMarcus Aldridge who scored 22 points and rookie Jerryd Bayless who had another nice game and chipped in 19 points.

As the trade deadline approaches questions always surround Mark Cubans team. However, the Mavs might be done tinkering with their roster despite what Jerry Stackhouses agent says. Dallas feels they have put themselves in position to make some noise in the second half of the season. "People want you to panic," owner Mark Cuban said. "It makes more interesting media and Internet. "In the West, there's nobody running away with it. Every team except the Lakers has had a bad stretch. We're what? Four games out of first in our division? That's after a four- and a five-game losing streak. We haven't lost ground. I'll put it that way."

That, was last weeks news. This weeks rumor mill has the Blazers turning down a deal proposed by the Mavericks that would send Jason Kidd to Portland for RLEC and Jerryd Bayless.

I think that Dallas starting lineup must lead the league, or at least be in the top 5 in FH% (Forehead percentage).
    Look at those things.

Blake did not travel with the team. Whomever projected those starters needs to do some better research.

Well, every game is a big game from here on out. We're not going to win the rest of our games, but I bet we'll win the majority of them.
Dallas is going to be tough especially now that they've picked it up and blew out Orlando today. We've never played well there anyway, but it'll be another tough game.

I have a feeling that G.O. will have a bigger impact in this game and I hope ROY does better in this game. Dallas is a much slower paced offense than the Hornets so I hope we keep this game close. We are playing better in the 4th quarter than in earlier in the season.

This is going to be a huge game... our sched. gets really easy for a couple games after this... I also think GO has a chance to really dominate this game.
