It was over the top, but it shows how dedicated he is to acting. Only someone who loves what they do that much could go on such an emotional rant. I thought it was a classic, Mambaesque rant.

This is just like normal on hollywood movie set man, did you here the reaction from the other people on set, they were all cool with it, big stars do this tuff all the time, big name actors, it all started with brando, and that is why brando is the greatest actor in history, because he is insane, he is so complex and so full of emotion that he incases it and lets it out on the set, if the camera had been rolling and Bale instead followed the script, he would have won a fukin oscar for it because that is what makes actors great they stay inside themselves and unleash whatever it is that fits that scene, this idiot guy who walked onto the set, TWICE, just set bale off and that pissed him off because he was saving it for that scene, i can understand, the guy was unprofesional and should know better. anyone who thinks bale's reaction is over the top doesnt understand what it takes to put in great porformances in film and stage. no offense, but it is a huge part of acting to throw yourself into the scene, and this idiot guy blew it, thats fukin annoying.
I love the actor as well, top 10 at the moment IMO, but I would have fired him on the spot for going nuts like he did. Fuck him and his problems. (he was probably on drugs with the way he acted)

Heard about this in the morning of Z100. Bale is my second favorite actor, but I didn't like this temper tantrum. I fully understand that this particular scene must be "strong and "emotional", and that the DP messed it up. The thing is, you need to be more professional about it. Bale asks the DP "Are you a professional?", and goes on to yell at him like an amateur. I'm sure the guy must of been a "prick" for constantly messing with the lights, but still, there are better ways to handle it. I'm sure everyone felt pretty intimidated by Bale after this.
Exactly man. But he went on and on, trying to destroy the guy and his career (whatever career that is with lights lol).
A bunch of Legends have diva moments, it is not a big deal. As the Dp who messed up you just walk away from that situation and let a great actor get over it later. It is simply part of life in Hollywood.
As already mentioned here, the DP had it coming anyway. He was being a dumbshit and Bale called him on it. His tantrum was long winded and over the top but this wasn't the first time this guy did it. I don't think Bale was trying to ruin this guy's career though, Bale isn't the one who leaked it onto the internet. Bale also says that hes a nice guy but just a dumb shit as far as professionalism goes. The DP should have known better. Like Bale says, he doesn't go around fucking with this guy's lights, this guy shouldn't be fucking around on Bale's sets when he's acting and potentially screwing up Bale's performance. Wouldn't you be mad too if someone did that to you? Multiple times? If some other higher-up hadn't called this guy out for moving around off camera then I hasve no problem with Bale doing it. It's like when Michael Jordan used to go off on lowly role players during games and practices. Bale just wants to do the best he can do and hes an intense motherfucker. The other guy is being an asshat and in the end, there's a shit ton of DPs out there looking to get into the industry, most of them wouldn't do anything stupid like this. There's only one Christian Bale and hes can probably get away with pretty much anything scott free.
