Our 1-2 punch with Sergio and Jerryd has produced some effective ball with more wins than anyone expected.

The couple of times it has fizzled is when Nate favors Bayless in the second half to the point that he loses his pep and becomes just a clumsy, fouling rookie.

When Nate sticks to splitting PT in half each quarter, it has been quite effective, and highly entertaining. It throws off the other team and by the time they adjust we switch back again.

Tonight Bayless looked spent about 5 minutes into the 4th quarter, but never got a breather.

I don't think it matters who starts, but I like the yin-yang thing alot.

Whoever plays with Joel will look much better defensively for awhile, as Greg has got a lot to learn.

Face it, Sergio is just plain is not a good prospect anymore. There's a reason Bayless got the lion's share of the minutes, Sergio was just BRUTAL on defense and coughed up the ball for fast breaks. The sooner Sergio hits the bricks, the sooner this team gets on with building for the future.

Jerryd is the Jekyll and Sergio is the Hyde.

    Sorry, couldn't resist. :D

Sergio plays godawful defense, I'm sorry. He was routinely beaten by Kidd, who has lost a few steps and quickness, off the dribble all night.

This is where i sorely wished we had a borderline all-star PG like Billups or Kidd.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
It would have been nice to have nabbed Chauncey Billups, but unfortunately Portland didn't have a famous, over-the-hill star to trade. That also prevented them from getting Devin Harris.

Portland should sign Drexler to a 10-day contract and trade him for a star point guard.

against new orleans, bayless played the entire 4th and did so very well. of course, he only played 3 minutes in the 3rd so i can understand that and he was playing so well it would have been hard to take him out.

it did seem a little strange tonight though to have bayless play his career high in minutes and play the last 21 minutes of the game. i didn't get to see this game(couldn't find a link and wanted to watch the texas game anyway once it started) but it seems a lot to ask of anyone to play 21 minutes straight especially someone who has only been averaging playing half the game(since blake's been out).

well considering the number of DNPs Jerryd's had, I'd say it's probably less of a big deal than we guess.

it's still weird. when bayless has been getting something like 24 minutes a game lately and he plays the last 21 minutes of the game, that can't be something he's used to.

but like i said, i don't know if that effected his game as i didn't see the game, it just seems weird to me that it happened.

Fast, hard-nosed, loves to drive to the basket (early in his career).... does Bayless remind anyone of the young Damon Stoudamire?

Yeah baby, I used to love those awesome two-handed throw downs Damon used to do. God I miss those days...

Oh wait.... that wasn't Damon, it was my little brother on the Nerf hoop we used to have over the door.

Ummm... No, I'm not seeing it. More like Robert Pack.
