yeah cassel is pumped to get that kinda money. they will now trade him or cut him. they will not pay him that kinda money, no way in hell. might backfire on them as cassel should be reluctant to rework that contract for a new one this season as he would likely not recieve anywhere near that. and then he can sign a big deal next offseason. if they cant trade him, they cut him imo.
He doesn't get it until he signs the deal and they can pull the offer at any moment until he signs it....he should show up this morning with a pen in his hand and sign the offer sheet, guaranteeing the years salary....It would be like an extra signing bonus for him....
They won't cut him, the entire contract is guaranteed if Cassel signs it. If they don't trade him they'll keep him as a backup. 99% chance he gets traded though.
I'm sure they talked to him about what they planned to do before they made it official. He's a class act and wouldn't try to screw them.
He sure did sign that thing fast....he knows how shifty Belicheat is and he didnt take any chances with them recending the offer later....Ive never seen a player sign the franchise tender so fast....its close to $15m guaranteed now....
