Inspired by Mark Stein and procrastination, I suggest this:

Phoenix sends out Amare Stoudemire and gets RLEC, Sergio and Travis
Chicago sends out Deng, Hinrich and filler and gets Stoudemire and Steve Blake
Portland sends out RLEC, Travis, Blake and Sergio and gets Deng and Hinrich

Versions of this have been discussed to death, I know, but it seems to me that the likelihood of getting Deng for what we've got has declined, but Stoudemire might entice. Phoenix, on the other hand, doesn't seem likely to commit to Deng and Hinrich's long-term contracts, so...

Chicago has to come to terms with the cost of dumping Hinrich's contract.

I really like it since Aldridge for Stoudamire would be somewhat of a lateral move, BUT... I think PHX gets only one thing they want (financial relief). I mean, Travis and Sergio have some value, but they have to get back a cheap 'A level' prospect like Aldridge, 'cause this is just blowing it up, and I'm not sure they're ready for that. Reportedly Nash is off limits, so won't just throw the season away, they have to get back something at PF, and no, I don't mean Frye/Diogu/Shavlik.

Phoenix wouldn't want Sergio. They, like everyone, want Bayless. Sergio is worth nothing.

With Pheonix giving up Amare...I don't see them doing this deal without getting Deng back...thier giving up the marquee player in the deal and wouldn't want Outlaw over Deng if he was in the deal. And with the Suns in obvious rebuilding mode...I'm sure any deal for Amare will have to include drafts picks

I agree that the Suns seem to be getting the short end here, BUT

    1. Amare has totally burnt his bridges there. Talk to Suns fans and they hate him.
    2. They've always been, how shall I put it? Thrifty (which is why we have Sergio and Rudy and Boston have Rondo) so Raef's super-expiring contract might be the main attraction.
    3. Imagine Outlaw on the end of some of Nash's alley-oops
    4. Outlaw can play PF for them (a bit).
    5. We could throw in a draft pick and or cash.
    6. I don't think Phoenix would really want Deng (and certainly not Hinrich) for reason 2 above, and besides, Deng's contract is base-year which complicates matters.

    Deng was Phoenix's pick too.

i still don't think deng is worth taking on his contract. batum could easily be better in a year or two, and if we want to go after a star who might be available i would prefer wallace.

Here's my problem with your thinking: you started the thread and clearly want Hinrich and Deng to be in Portland. Your train of thought, therefore, is impacted by your desire for these two players.

No way does PHX not ask for Bayless. Sergio is worthless. PHX may be cheap (and history certainly says so), but they would demand Jerryd.

so was sergio, and maybe rudy if i recall....

edit: Sergio and Rudy both were originally drafted by PHX.

Man, theyre cheap. Imagine if they had just kept their picks.

    This improves 2 teams.

    We're not one of them.

Okay, assuming we're not going to give up Bayless, maybe Chicago can send Tyrus Thomas to Phoenix (again, imagine him on the end of Nash passes) in return for offloading The Crazy Mulletted Argentine on us.

    Voila!

Messy, and it screws up our cap space (so very unlikely). But who were we going to sign anyway?

I'd do that deal, we keep all of our top players and add the jewel for us, which is Deng. He's been tearing it up lately. I'd consider that strongly over some of the other deals proposed on here.

i doubt adding TT would make the deal significantly more attractive to phoenix.

Funny thought... do you think that in trade conversations between GMs, they send Trade Machine links to each other? I mean, keeping track of a 14 player deal like this on the phone... could be impossible.

I doubt it. That's what guys like Tom Penn are for.

He's probably one of the guys who WROTE the program. Seriously - those are the nerds who are being hired into actual real-world positions. It probably makes the Jerry Krauses of this world sick to their (ample) stomachs.

Judging by your avatar, you have a serious Bayless crush. But I'm not sure he's the make-or-break guy, and I can bet there are plenty of people who look at the raw talent and otherworldly athleticism of Tyrus Thomas, believe they can mold him into a rich man's Shawn Marion and rate him higher than Bayless, who is a short shooting guard (however good) and honestly unlikely ever to start for most teams in the league.

Not true IMO. Bayless could start for a few teams right now and is going to be a top 5-10 PG in the NBA as early as next year. You are way underrating Bayless's talent! I don't know this for sure but I think outside of our big 3 most teams are asking for Bayless in a trade. There is a reason they want Bayless before he blows up and he is untouchable from us.
