kobes rebounds per minute: 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000 and so on. first 50 point triple double since jabbar. kobe is great and all, but come on. people have high scoring games alot. 50 point triple doubles....not so much.
I know, LeBron had a great game in NYC as well in his own way, that's why I made this thread. People don't have these kind of 60 point games on that many minutes, in that fashion. I think it is worthy of polling, not a given.
if hitting alot of free throws means you had a better game, then kobe had a better game. if out rebounding him by 10 and out assisting him by 8 means you had a better game, then lebron had a better game. both teams won so i say its a tie.
Kobe's game was much more special in my opinion. And it's not because I'm a Laker fan. On paper, LeBron has the better stats, but to me, Kobe's game was so smooth. People will remember his 61 over LBJ's 50+pt trip dub. Hats off to LBJ though man, I'm not one of those Kobe jockers who hates on LBJ, I love both, Kobe is my favorite player, but I like LeBron as well. I wonder who Spike Lee thought had the better game, he saw both of them courtside.
One thing that is in Kobe's favor, that Jim Rome pointed out. Kobe got MVP chants, he won over that arena. LeBron, did not.
in Lebron's defense, the people chanting MVP were Laker fans. i don't know, i'd like to say that Lebron's performance was better (though, both were absolutely amazing), but i just can't shake the feeling that he was more focused on outdoing Kobe than actually winning this game.
Triple Double was taken away by the league today, one of his rebounds with 39 seconds left should have gone to Wallace. Just thought that was funny. :] http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...g=ap-lebron-notriple-double&prov=ap&type=lgns
That's freakin' hilarious. I'm an LBJ fan, but with his little cocky comments after the game, this makes it even funnier.
Has the NBA ever done this before taking away a guys stats? Seems stupid, just give him his damn triple double he was amazing in that game. BTW Hueve I think you need a new sig keeping in line with your Jesus references. Jesus Commits 61 Sins in Garden of Eden
Kobe's night was way better. LeBron was clearly trying to break the record even though he denies it. He was uncharacteristically holding the ball for longer stretches during the game. There were a few times when LeBron caused a 24 second violation. (He passed it to teammates with 2 second left on the clock). Plus, it's not really that hard to get 11 assists when you have the ball in your hands for 15 seconds each possession. LeBron also got away with some bad "superstar" calls.
Oh definitely I've been thinking of going old school for my Lakers. :O I shall update my sig soon. Edit- Here you are.
It would be cool to think the entire city of New York actually are Laker fans rather than Knick fans though. LOL
