http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=tradetalk-090205 What the hell? Why would the Hornets want Marion and David West? Is Chandler damanged goods?
If they're trading Chandler, we should enter our hat into the fray with Gooden's expiring and a young big (Noah preferably).
What are the attendance numbers in NO? A recession hits there harder than most places and Chandler is probably the most expendable guy they have. If he isn't a high energy guy then he is replaceable.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=1711~3224~984&teams=3~3~4&te=&cash= Gooden/Noah for Chandler seems like it would be a good trade for both teams. Getting a defender like Chandler will greatly improve the Bulls imo.
Skiles isn't here anymore, and Tyson supposedly had a tight relationship with Paxson, so I could see it happening. in addition, Obama told Chandler to come back to the Bulls.
I think that's where I come down on it. If we didn't have Noah, I'd love to have Tyson back. But the reality is you have to build a team in the NBA based on managing the cap. Noah is cheap for two more years, and will probably come close to Chandler in that time. By leveraging our other salary in that time, we can build something. Adding Chandler now makes that more difficult. That ship sailed, I think.
By the way, you'd be hard pressed to find two more similar players after a year and a half. He does. Except, he doesn't have a very good off the court work ethic. Actually one may not even exist yet. It'll come in time, but will the Bulls give him time to mature, who knows...
In one of the recent Bullsbeat podcasts, it was mentioned that Noah has hired a live-in personal trainer/nutritionist. So maybe he's getting on the right track there.
