So Outlaw, Frye, Sergio, and the expiring contract of LeFrentz for Richard Jefferson??? No way. That's too much for a guy who is only barely better than Outlaw.
Maybe I need to watch more of RJ this season, because I never thought he was as bad as people are claiming him to be.
I don't see why Portland or Milwaukee needs Miami in this trade. Presumably Milwaukee would be doing it because they are giving up on this season (24-28 record and Michael Redd down), and want to go younger and save money now and shed salary. They would not be resigning Marion, so wouldn't they prefer RLEC in any deal? Here's a possible deal that would be just between those two teams (and works salary-wise): Portland sends Sergio, Frye, Outlaw and RLEC and receives back Ridnour and Jefferson. This would also satisfy all the criteria listed previously for the other rumored trade--eastern conference, PG and SF, previously pursued and former allstar (Jefferson). Nate has often said he wants some veteran help, this would surely do that. It's true that Ridnour is probably not an upgrade over Blake, but he is a second experienced, steady PG and I think that is what Nate wants right now, while Bayless develops. It would be easier to work him into our system midseason since he has played for Nate before.
Oops, I just read that Ridnour broke his thumb and will be out for a month; so that kind of scraps that idea.
I really like who we give up, the one thing I don't like is Jefferson. There are plenty of people i'd rather get... Prince, Wallace, Deng and even Butler. Of course Granger. Giving up Outlaw, Sergio, Raef and Frye is awesome. Helps consolidate and get rid of bench players. But if I had a choice I'd rather not do this trade because I really don't want Jefferson.
