Clearly! Time to forfeit the rest of the season and get ready for the lottery.

BTW, MIXUM you're shortening your lifespan with all of this negativity and self induced distress ... my advice is to get even MORE stressed out, that way you'll be out of our hair that much sooner!

Ha, I'll try not to in the future but maybe mixum's posts actually have a purpose. When I get angry after a loss, all I have to do is read one of his posts, and it puts things way back into perspective.

Just out of curiosity, at what point do some of you believe players/coaches/front office should be held accountable? Do fans *ever* get to expect a return on their emotional investment?

Yes, Mixum can be annoying.....but some of you are so intent on beating the guy up, you make it sound as if we should embrace the Clipper's model.

Yah, that's it. Thats exactly why people get tired of him. We yearn to be the Clippers.

This team is enigmatic in the worst way. MIXUM is not entirely wrong about this team needing leadership, or toughness, or something.

What we have to remember is what KP has said: agree or disagree, the Blazers aren't focused on this season. As much as we all desperately want to see the Blazers make the playoffs, and even have homecourt advantage in the playoffs, the front office isn't going to trade away guys like Batum and Sergio for an older player, just to have an incrementally better chance of winning a playoff series. The Blazers are NOT going to win the championship this season. And I don't think they're going to win a playoff series this season. But I do hope they'll win a couple games going into the All-Star Break and can avoid last year's collapse. If they can't - what have we learned?

Ya,this season is over. Looks like 5-7 lottery pick if we can get it together somewhat.

We're 30-19 and fifth in the West and surpassing expectations. That's hardly a cause for concern or worrying that we're the next Clippers. Even Boston went on a stretch this year where they played poor ball, you don't see them blowing it up at the first sign of suckiness.
If we're continually missing the playoffs over the next 2-3 years, then I'm gonna bitch and moan.

Certainly it would be some time after the team stops improving in the win column by 10 games a year which they are on pace to do yet again... or is that setting my sights too low?

Look, you're not a fan if you don't feel like shit after a loss. All true fans do. I seldomly ever find any reason to be happy after a loss. But does that mean that day after day after day, I set out to shit on the team and piss on everyones' time here on the forum by spewing the same stupid negative bullshit? No. We should hold the team and its players accountable because we are the ones that pay for the tickets and buy the $10 beers - but why the hell be a "fan" if all you ever do is bitch about the team? Anyone can bitch and moan - but mix in some credit when/where it's due . . . that's all most people ask.

The way you make it sound, it's like this team is going backwards, already out of the playoffs and lottery bound - when they are not. And the way some of these bullshit threads go, it's like there's NOTHING at all positive about the whole damned franchise. Clearly, there's got to be SOMETHING that's good, something that their doing right, isn't there? If 30 wins before the All-Star Break isn't it, maybe it's that we're sitting on the verge of home court advantage or that we lead the league in 4th quarter comeback wins or SOMETHING.

We're not giving the team a free pass to play as shitty as they want - but what the fuck is wrong with acknowledging things that they do right for a change?

The team needs some tinkering, but the knee-jerk MIXUM posts after each loss are so predictable that they can't be taken seriously as the place for reasonable discussion about what changes may be needed. MIXUM is the classic case of the boy who cried wolf too many times. He howls, but nobody pays significant attention.

There is a bit of the boy crying wolf going on . . .

However, this thread makes a good point. Blazers seem to be heading down the same road as last year. No way they should have been blown out by OKC. We will have to see how they do back home. I'm still thinking they slide into one of the 5-8 slots and lose in the first round--which is what I hoped for at the beginning of the season.

We shouldn't let their overachieving cause us to overvalue their success and then complain when they drop back down to the baseline.

Exactly, this is basically what I've been trying to say - but not so eloquently. Nicely done.

Mixum...I have a solution to your pain.

    One Car
One hose, around 15 feet will do(garden hose will work)
One opened window. Not too much now, you don't want the exhaust to escape!
Take the hose put it to the exhaust of the car and into the opened window. Seal both connections for maxium effect.
    Start Car

    No more worries ever again!

    Why so elaborate?

One belt around one neck over one strong ceiling beam = less hassle.

In a few years? In a few years?

From the sound of it, if we don't win the title THIS year, we're all going to Jonestown it.
