he'd play SG befor PG most likely.......that's if he gets any playing time behind Ariza and Walton.........I've always thought he had decent game though..........

They probably remember him from his Seattle or Clip days when he was kind of an attractive role player. He's got some talent and I'm sure Larry Brown is confident in his coaching ability.

In the triangle it would be easier for him to play PG, and we need the depth there. Sasha takes the rest of Kobe's minutes anyway.

I still think VC will pop up one day soon, especially if he can join a championship bandwagon.

NO SHIT he's an upgrade over Vlad at the 5, Vlad's a shooter, not a center.

It doesn't matter what position Brown will be playing. If he's playing more than garbage minutes, the Lakers are in deep shit.

I was responding to drexler's post.

    Brown???

Shannon Brown isn't going to see minutes at all, neither will Morrison unless they impress. Luke is the starter, he'll probably see like 20 minutes or more because he is Phil's love child. Beyond that, the minutes should all go to Trevor. If we need someone to fill in at SF we can play Kobe as well.

I don't see Brown or Morrison being much of a factor at all for us.

5 million in expirings for 2010.

My guess is the Lakers hold onto him to get cap relief, but yeah, he's definitely a trade asset.

You are probably right BUT since the Ariza trade I like the idea that if you are going to do a trade for so-so players that they should be in their third or fourth year in the league. Thats the time when those suprise stars start to blossom....or at least make their biggest leap in quality play

This is a good move because Morrison and Brown are young players on their rookie salaries.

I hope Laker fans aren't hoping Morrison develops into the star that he was supposed to be. He is a Grade A bust. Renaldo Balkman > Adam Morrison and that's not even a joke.

I think all in all this was a good trade, radman gone wont effect our chemistry, plus kobe and fisher are great role models to play with for both these young players, who havent been given a chance when playing for a shitty fukin team like the god damn bobcats.

it also provides more talent for garbage minutes when we are blowing out teams, the second half of the season is begining, and the lakers are showing that they are picking up speed for home court advantage. it gives kobe and fisher and ariza a chance to rest when we have obviously won the game, some of you beleive morrison is a lost cause but i beg to differ. When i saw him play the lakers, the first touch of the ball he had was in the closing minutes of the third, with a big hand in his face, he knocked down a three without any effort. he is a great shooter, he can also drive the lane pretty well, and has alot of passion for the game, something that certain former lakers, and one current laker, lack completely. given the chance, morrison could realize his potential once the presssure is taken off of him. the bobcats are an embarassing organization, obviously, the traded for radman, anyway, they wanted immediate production from this kid, and when he had a pretty good rookie season, but didnt meet there way-too-high expectations, he was a garbage player, oh and he missed a season with injury, soomething laker fans are familiar with and how much it can effect a player. we need to give him the chance because he is very talented and could help this team.

shannon brown, well i dont know much about him, but i do know that he killed us a few times on the 27th of jan game, so yeah, two for one is a pretty good deal imo.

It's amazing how we're talking about a 3rd overall pick bringing in more talent for garbage minutes.

I love this deal! Mitch did awesome here, Vlad Rad was a cap killer who rotted away on the bench. Personally, I liked him. He stretched the floor. Morrison is still relatively young, I think he can be a nice asset off the bench if he can start knocking down the 3 ball.

I think this trade improves our team and now gives us some cap flexibility to bring back Odom and Ariza.

I think it is very funny that two of Voodoo Child's favorite players have been traded to the Lakers, Pau Gasol and Shannon Brown.

I look at this deal solely from a financial perspective, which I believe it is the only way it should be looked at. Both Morrison and Brown are garbage minute players, and we can't risk having them on the court for longer than a few minutes in unimportant games. Morrison sucks on defense, but I don't know much about Brown. What's good is their contracts, and that we got rid of Radmans contract.

I told you guys we're getting Morrison almost a month ago. =)

I thought the deal would be a different variation, but the Lakers have eyed AMMO for awhile now. Should be interesting to see how develops in our system and with Kobe taking him under his wing. Morrison is a gym rat, but suffers from diabetes, which could limit him in the long run. I know he hasn't lived up to his potential, but this could be the break he needed. The Lakers have a solid track record lately in developing young players and Morrison has the scoring ability to thrive in the Triangle because of his mid-range game. He's also suffered through various injuries which has impeded his development.

Shannon Brown is a nice 'throw in' player. Maybe he turns out to be another Ariza for us who was 'throw in' player when he unloaded Brian Cook to Orlando. Originally I was hoping the Lakers drafted him instead of Farmar, but Cleveland snatched him up right before the Lakers pick. He also hasn't done much as a pro and has only shown glimpses of what he's capable of doing. I'm not sure how many opportunities he'll get with the logjam at the guard position, but he can earn time by contributing on the defensive end.

Radman never worked out for us and unfortunately his strong play in the preseason and early on disappeared. I thought he was finally putting it together, but he went right back into the Space Cadet character and fell out of favor with ownership. Not to mention showing up late several times to practice and team meetings.

This gives the Lakers another million in cap space to spend on Trevor.

I know this is kinda random but why does it seem that mitch always is able to dump players(Rush, Jumaine Jones) on Charlotte
