Last Friday night the Portland Trailblazers headed into an ambush in Oklahoma City, where the Thunder dominated our team in just about every way possible. We have a video recap and some highlights in our video locker that you can view by clicking on this link. I wish we didn't have them. I thought about deleting them.I tried pretty hard Friday night to delete my own memory of that game. After it was over I went to the Green Dragon and tossed down a few shots of absinthe. Followed that up by going to another place and emptying a few shots of Jack Daniels. We stunk in that game and no amount of alcohol could change that.Just like when you step in dog doo, the stink of that game is still following this team, who was lucky to escape the friendly confines of the Rose Garden Sunday night with a win over the Knicks.

A number of Sonic expatriates will likely be attending this game. I wonder how many of them will be rooting for their old team? And how many of them will be there wishing to see the Blazers lay a whoopin on Clay Bennetts Thunder? I won't be there to see this one. Club Blazers and Sports Two member PapaG will be sitting in my seats and treating his daughter to her very first Blazer game. I hope she gets to see a better version of this team in Oden vs Durant 2.

Jason Quick of the Oregonian questioned the coach of the Trailblazers, Nate McMillan on the teams defense after watching the team drop two out of three on its recent road trip. "We have to stop the ball,'' McMillan said. "We are not ... we are not ... we ... I guess you know that. We are not stopping ball on perimeter and our weakside is not helping. That to me ... I'm trying to figure out what it is. I don't want to say it's mental fatigue, but I thought it was the worst defense of the year. It wasn't good. But our last three games have been like that.'' In this article, Quick goes on to query the coach about whether or not this roster is equipped to play the kind of defense he wants them too.

Steve Blakes shoulder isn't healing the way we want it too and it remains to be seen when he will return. One thing is for sure...he'll be sitting and watching this game in street clothes. I hope he gets better soon. Webster should be getting his boot taken off within the next two weeks and with any luck at all we'll be seeing him raining some threes again shortly after the all-star break.
