There is money to be made in MMA and the boxing world isn't missing the boat. Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy promotions has been working with Affliction, Sugar Ray Leonard boxing exec Bjorn Rebney is starting up BFC, Gary Shaw and his cronies tried their hand at MMA with ProElite, and now Roy Jones Jr. is also getting some MMA action. Jr. (52-5) is scheduled to face Omar Sheika (27-8) on March 21st, and instead of having no-name boxers on the undercard, Jones is putting together a hybrid MMA/boxing show. His undercard will feature Roy Nelson, Seth Petruzelli, Jeff Monson, and Doug Marshall, and former WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley. March Badness will only be available on PPV or not-so-legal internet streams.
moving forward.. i feel this is the direction boxing should take on.. until he gets more credible boxers..
