Interesting. Especially given the stats for that night. But I remember in one of Crawford's first Warrior games, back before Maggette's injury in his really selfish days, Crawford looked over incredulously at Maggette and shrugged his arms like "WTF are you doing?" after a long string of Maggette iso outside clankers. So it's not hard to believe. I'd be frustrated too, although Crawford is somewhat guilty of the same sometimes.
I'm very shocked. Crawford is one of the most chill, high-character players in the league. Crawford has played on some of the worst teams assembled in recent NBA history and has remained calm. He also split time with Steve Francis, Nate Robinson, Zach Randolph who are noted for not passing the ball too much. Maggette must have really did something particularly annoying.
Word. It means we trade Crawford for Amare (keep Mags) and tell PHX that he can play backup PG and is insurance if Nash goes down. Does his contract expire in 2009, too ?
Amare is a different kind of ballhog. He's almost unstoppable if used properly and he's getting inside shots rather than jacking up junk. Amare probably wouldn't enjoy playing for us if it meant Nelson was going to use him at the 5. I think Amare prefers the power forward slot instead of center. But who knows? Defensively, Amare is not a top tier big man, which is why a similar athlete (different game) Dwight Howard gets more buzz. A team has to have a top big man which means offense and defense. I don't think Amare is a top big, if he can't slow down opposing players.
