read this today, found it quite interesting.

I'm not personally concerned about a lack of 'star power' on some UFC cards. So long as the matchups are good I'll watch the fights.

This is good for three reasons for 3 different groups IMO.

One we get to see lots of fights.
Two the fighters get to stay active and earn more money.
Zuffa is making money off the events so they're happey

As long as they are good matchups, I don't really care about star power. A fight between scrub A and scrub B can be just as, or more, entertaining than a fight between Star A and Star B.

I like watching fighters who fight to win and not cautious fighters who fight to not lose.

Even Machida, I don't think he fights to not lose, but waits for his opponent to make a mistake and as we saw in his last fight, he doesn't just counter, he does attack but it's a quick attack and then backs out. He doesn't sit there and bang, but it's never been a dull style to me

It's not like they're throwing bums out there... I'm enjoying the shit out of this right now.

To the general public and casual fans, there might be a lack of star power, but I'm sure most hardcore MMA fans love it.

UFN 17 was probably a better set of fights than UFC 93 or UFC 94.

you'd be amazed at how many 'hardcore' fans will bitch about these cards on places like Sherdog (aka shercrap) and the Underground (where MMA fighters and Joe Rogan hang)

the want super duper cards every time out.

UFC 95 doesn't look so hot so far.

^ At least we're not paying for it.

The difference between 93 and 95 is marginal. I don't know why we had to pay for one and not for the other.

I thought 93 was free, I was disappointed when I found out it wasn't.

    I'm glad 95 is free.

I'm still floored at the number of fighters they've had fight for them in the last few months and the next upcoming months combined.
    140 fighters.. that's a lot.

I think the main card for 95 isn't that bad...

Sanchez vs. Stevenson is gonna be fun as hell...
Koscheck is coming off a brutal KO
I'm personally excited to see Maia fight. I love watching the guy submit people
Marquardt vs. Gouveia isn't too bad of a matchup either.

I probably wouldn't pay for it for a 2 reasons, it's not a special card, and I don't even have access to pay-per-view at school, so it's a moot point regardless. But I really don't think this card is anywhere near as bad as people are making it out to be.
