Role players don't do much? I can remember a good amount of extremely important role players in Phil's teams.
he's just saying what's true. Phil's system is already a well - oiled machine and its hard to incorporate players that aren' superstars. i still think that Radman was a good role player on a team who didnt have mins. for him. and since we are a classy organization, we decided to let him go simply so that he can play somewhere else and be given the mins.
They brought him in here to space the floor. They knew his defense was suspect when they signed him. Why sign him in the first place?
Phil's system actually incorporates everyone, it's just built around Kobe, which is smart, because you want your offensive system built around your best player. If it had no place for role players, we wouldn't have one of the most productive benches in the NBA.
See I told you it was a good idea to let him go. (trade) Now if you only trade Sasha, and then I won't hate this team as much as I do now.
I doubt they trade Sasha. He's one of their best shooters (when on) and they just signed him to a new contract.
^ doubt they'd do that. Kobe is sasha's little (taller) bro LOL (unless he can dunk in the near future, then ship his ass out!) i meant that our system was based on Kobe (and now Pau and Bynum)... but it spaces the floor well enough so that the other players can contribute. The 'well - oiled machine' i was talking about was Phil's rotation (where Phil normally uses an 8 - 9 man roatation in the more important games). Sorry if it was confused for the triangle.
Radman is an idiot. The Lakers run the Triangle maybe 25% of the time and the Triangle this season has been a hybrid of the one's used in the past. This year they've sped up their offense and are shooting earlier in the shot clock. In the past the Lakers used to walk the ball up and really slow the game down, but with our roster being loaded with scorers PJax wanted to take advantage of our strength. The Lakers have been playing a lot of pick and roll with Kobe & Gasol his year, and they get a lot of baskets in transition. Down the stretch the Lakers usually run the Triangle, but Radman usually isn't in the game down the stretch.
