Maggette is more of a ball hog. He won't even look to his teammates at all. And he's made of glass.

unrealistic but just for fun. I'm not sure how well Oden and Lee would fit together. Obviously the deal is void if you don't think you can resign Lee for a decent contract.

It's a deal that's fair for all parties imo.

Josh Smith doesn't play a lot at small forward, not because he can't, but because that team is just really small.

He's played SF extremely well for the Hawks in the past, I see him playing PF now more out of necessity than anything

I might just have a crush on J-Smoove, but some Atlanta fans think he has low BBIQ.

Might not be the best trade, but I just love someone who gives it all on the defensive end and is still so young.

Josh Smith - 114-438 26% career from downtown. I like him as a player, but only a PF in an up-tempo system, which the Blazers probably won't ever run with Roy and to a lesser extent Oden.
I see it as a maximization of his talents (or rather, a minimization of his weaknesses, namely outside shooting). Also, this season his blocks are down for whatever reason.

He doesn't shoot much 3's because he's not a good 3pt shooter. He's starting to see that and is attacking the basket more and shooting less long jumpers. That shouldn't hinder his ability to drive and finish with authority. Plus, he's an amazing defensive player, on the perimeter and in the post. He and LMA would make a lot of switches more tolerable.

And for all of you who like Gerald Wallace, J-Smoove is a comparable long range shooter.

Which is a significant weakness for a SF in Nate McMillan's system, and even with a different coach, a poor mesh with LMA and Oden.
I do like his improved efficiency this season, I'll give him that.
It might hinder our big men's ability to work in the low post.
Agreed, and then some. That would be nice defensive front court.
Not really. Smith barely takes any 3s anymore, while Wallace, who I'll admit is having a poor season, shot the 3 better over the last two seasons, with a lot more attempts.

The three pointer is overrated. We've come to rely on it A LOT less. We were just jacking up random threes in the beginning of the year, and hitting. Now we've stopped hitting, so we need more penetration.

He doesn't score off post ups. He scores off of midrange jumpers, drives, and assisted dunks.

He's a career 29% shooter, Smith is a career 26% shooter. Neither should be actively taking threes unless they have to.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I proposed a similar trade (though mine was maybe a bit biased as Portland got Marvin Williams back, too). I love the idea of acquiring Smith.

I'd rather send Batum than Bayless, though. Since Portland gets Smith, they don't so much need Batum. They still need Bayless as their future point guard.

I'm down with that, as long as PHX is down for that.

I tried to make it fair for all parties involved, and since PHX was interested in Bayless, I added him. If they didn't accept that, I'd probably try Batum+Sergio.

I saw your trade, and while it's a bit biased towards us,, I wouldn't mind pritchslapping someone if the opportunity arises.

I'd also add Nash and Shaq. What would Phoenix want for those players? I'm not sure about Amare, but I wouldn't say no right away. I'm not worried about his attitude, but I'm not sure how he would fit with our team or how much we would have to give up to get him.

this one of the better deals ever posted by a Blazers fan. At least you grasp the concept that you have trade players of real value instead of bench players for upper crust talent. I swear, I'm sick of seeing countless trade ideas bringing star players (sometimes multiple) for nothing more than expiring contracts and players you cant even find suitable minutes for. People seem to think you can pull in borderline All-Stars...even All-Stars, without giving up Bayless...it's laughable....if Portland won't someone else will

or portland fans realize that their team isn't going to make major changes to their roster unless it's to get some top level talent.

No, I got that part....but it's begining to be an all to common trend...that they think they can get this top level talent for an expiring contract and pieces. I'm all for understanding that they need a top talent to push them ove rthe top, but you have to give something of value to get something of value...and sure there have been other lopsided deals in the past...all I'm saying is to get some of the players I keep seeing in pipedreams, Bayless could very well be a deal breaker for most teams

I think we got that after the first 5 times you said that. Nobody is forcing you to read the proposals if they upset you so much.

Oh jeez, i've never seen this before. It all makes sense now. How dare Portland fans come up with trade proposals on a message board that aren't fair and in Portland's favor. Shame on them.
