I voted Butler, but he and Prince are pretty much long shots. I were voting for the one I'd think we realistically could land, it would be RJeff. Just say no Vince or Amare.
For Nash and Shaq, it would blow about 32M in salary. It seems tough for us to get that with just the parts I'd want to trade. In a perfect world, we'd get a short-term 1 and a longer-term 3. We'd get a backup PF banger guy. But if it was something relatively minor I'd like Shaq as our 3rd big.
I think G. Wallace is at the top of my list. He brings so much without running a single play for him.
I agree seems like the perfect fit. Great defender, can run the offense and gives you a vet with big game experience.
Doesn't it scare anybody that G-Wall misses 20-30 games/year with injuries? I like his game, but misses a lot of time.
Without knowing what we would give up for each of these players, I can't really vote. Assuming that we give up equal value for any one of them, I'd go with Amare. He's the best player and the most valuable, even though he would not be the best fit for this team. Ed O.
I agree. Amare is a game changer. Listen, I like LA. He's a great kid, and a good PF. That said, I don't know that he'll ever see an All Star Game. How much better will he get? He's sort of limited athletically - he's not a BAD athlete, but he's not freakishly athletic either. He does a lot of things pretty well. Amare is a beast. I don't think Amare is a cancer either. He's not happy in Phoenix, but he's being asked to defer to Shaq's old/fat ass (or at least co-exist with him) Does Amare have an ego? Damn straight. What player of that status doesn't? He wants to be THE guy. I don't see that being a problem here. Oden doesn't seem to crave that sort of thing, and I think Roy is smart enough to know that taking a backseat to Amare could bring titles and keep him healthy. We ask an awful lot of B-Roy, and his body can/will continue to break down at this rate. Imagine this . . . Oden Amare Batum Roy Bayless I know I'm the minority on this. LA is well thought of, and rightfully so. But I think Amare has been unfairly dubbed as a lazy (at least defensively) egotistical, selfish baby who doesn't get along with his teamates. He says he does - he says he gets along with everyone. He's a 28/11 career playoff performer. He's carried the Suns at times in the post season. Career 25 PER in playoffs.
exactly as I see it I thought the "scout rumors" Dufferduck claimed rang sort of true in terms of being realistic. For the sake of conversation I'll suspend my doubts and say Prince for Bayless and Outlaw would be very tempting. STOMP
Something like this works. Phoenix gets younger at PG and C, gets a talented young SF/PF, a PF who can bang and score inside, even if he is undersized and saves money this offseason. I would also throw in a top three protected first round draft pick. If Phoenix cares more about saving as much money as possible this offseason than getting a good C, we can see if Minnesota wants to get a solid true C to mix with Love and Jefferson, more of PFs than Cs IMO, and bring Przybilla back to Minnesota like this. What do you think NattaNerNuttaMan?
