Appetite For Destruction - Guns'N'Roses I was in sixth grade. Before that, I had just heard whatever my parents were listening to (Beatles, Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin, Who, etc) or what was on the radio, but never really taken an individual interest in anything.
Harvest by Neil Young. Of course, that's because it was the only 8-track my mom had in the car and she had it on everywhere we drove. The first album I purchased and really listened to? Setting Sons by The Jam.
Sounds like my house when I was a kid. The only movie we had on VHS was Top Gun. I've probably watched the movie 50 times.
The first time I listened to the Dark Side of the Moon was in High School with the Wizard of OZ. Great album.
Although I was bombarded with musicals starting when I was in the womb, Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev (on 78's) was the first record that grabbed my attention as a toddler. Passages of it still run through my head at odd moments.
I grew up with Peter and the Wolf on 78's also. I think the record was broken at some point, however, maybe when I was 8 or 10. Kids and record players weren't the most stable mix. barfo
