I don't see the match. Golden State doesn't have enough young talent to give Phoenix, and can't really offer anything in the way of salary cap relief.

The Warriors have enough young talent to offer, but don't have the big expiring contract PHX wants. Anyhoo, I rather have Bosh than Amare for the Warriors. Bosh is the better outside shot and passer. The Phoenix Suns couldn't win with Amare, Nash, D'Antoni and company two years ago, and they can't win with Amare, Nash, and Shaq, so I doubt we can build around Biedrins, Amare, Monta, and Nelson and expect to go all the way.

I'd be happy to see Stoudemire go to the East.

Amare will screw himself if he picks GS. No offense, but they wont get a title run anytime soon.

I concur. First, I don't understand the urgency to get Amare (as good as it sounds). Our season is lost and chance of Amare re-signing with the Warriors is as good as the Warriors making the playoffs this year.

So, we're going to mortgage our future (Biedrins and/or Ellis) for Amare, who has displayed an unfavorable attitude in Phoenix the one year they have some adversity. I'm not sure I want that on our team.

I understand the numbers (Amare's stats), but it looks like we will only be the beneficiary of those numbers for 1 season and a half.

In the process, we'd lose Biedrins or Ellis...the supposed cornerstones of our franchise.

I don't think Amare would fit with this team. He needs to play with a point guard willing to pass the ball and utilize Amare in the pick & roll. I think the Warriors should target Tyson Chandler if they want to acquire another big. The Hornets are listening to offers for him because they don't expect him to re-sign.

There's no doubt Amare would be the Ws best big since at least Webber, maybe even Nate Thurmond. But he's definately not the guy I'd try to get. I'd be willing to deal Monta, not Beans. Amare's numbers are down this year because he doesn't haave the block to himself, he won't here either. I would still expect Andris to outrebound him, shoot a better FG% and play better D.

Bosh is the guy I really want but if we can't get him, I think Wright might be the perfect type of player to pair with Andris (if he develops the way I hope he will). He's got a decent shot, skilled down low, great weakside shotblocker. If he can put on a little weight and get consistent minutes he'd be perfect.

Yeah, Amare would be awesome but not with Jax/Mags/Crawford. You think he's complaining about not getting enough shots now? lol. Just wait till he's paired with those three.

The Warriors real issue is not at PF. I know that sounds crazy, because they basically have no PF, and are the worst rebounding team in the NBA. However, it's true. That's not the Warrior's issue. It's the veteran leaders and the money they're getting. Maggette/Jackson/Crawford. In other words, Craxette. As long as The warriors top $$ is invested in Craxette, all else is irrelevant. They'll never do anything.

I mean, sure, Mags has looked like a decent 6th man, as long as his ball hogging isn't affecting the starters, and as long as he can just quietly do his thing and not shoot 25 shots a night. But for $50 mils/5 years? That is SERIOUSLY flawed. Give me Azibuike for 1/3 the price.

Can you imagine Craxette with Amare? That is not looking pretty. I'm sorry. Someone mentioned earlier that Amare needs a pick-n-roll PG like Nash. I totally agree. And while Jackson occasionally tries to run pick-n-roll, 50% of his attempts are turnovers. Not only does Jax lead the league in turnovers at 3.8/game, he also leads the league in knuckle-head turnover ratio; about 50% of his turnovers are knucklehead turnovers. that's no bueno coming from your supposed "veteran leader."

No, as long as Craxette is alive, discussions of Amare and others are pointless. Unless, of course, Craxette is part of the deal. Then it's a totally different issue. But, what are the chances o the Suns taking Craxette as part of the deal? Well, 0%. They want youth and expiring contracts, of course. Not overpaid filler.

Right now, GS needs to do exactly what the Suns are doing. Look for a team to take one of your top-paid players in exchange for cap-relief/young talent. Since that's probably impossible, the next best thing is to wait until someone will give you decent mid-level guys in exchange who fit better with the core of Monta/Beans/Belly/Randolph/Wright. The LAST thing they should be doing is trading away their young talent for more expensive players when the very fundamental make-up of their roster--specifically, Craxette at 27 mils for next three years and Jackette for 18.5 for two more years after that--is inherently flawed.

I'm not trying to sound negative. It's fun to watch the Warriors when they do well. it was fun to watch Crawford do his and-1-mix-tape on Brewer and then bang in the fade-away three last night. It was fun to see Maggette when he was red hot. It was fun to see Jackson have some nice assists. But it's easy to be happy during a win. The truth is, long term, it's faulty. the bad out weighs the good. Crawford's senseless and-1 crossovers for backboard bricks far outweigh his makes. Jackson's knucklehead decisions far outweigh his wise ones. Maggette's lazy flat-footed attempts at defense far outweigh any spurts of serious defensive effort.

Craxette just isn't good for ball movement, for development of the youth, for defense, for inside-out game, or, IMO most important, leadership, and therefore team chemistry. It's no bueno.

That's why the Warrior's only hope is to move Craxette for a mid-level exchange who actually fit with the young nucleus. I'll take anyone of these exchanges:

Nocioni / Raja Bell / Tayshaun Prince

Matt Harpring / Joe Smith / Gerald Wallace

    Brevin Knight / AK-47 / Shane Battier

Steve Blake / Udonis Haslem / Trevor Ariza

Kirk Heinrich / Luol Deng / Boris Diaw

Good mid-level role players who will rebound and play hard-nosed defense. Pretty much everything Craxette doesn't do. Give those FG attempts to Monta/Beans and let the role-players support them. To me, that's much closer to a recipe for success.

Warriors also making a bid for Bosh according to MTII:

    http://www.ibabuzz.com/warriors/

Realistically, we'd have to move one of Monta or Andris to get either Amare or Bosh. I'd rather have Amare. Amare can flat out dominate games- remember him in the playoffs a few years ago? Dude is a monster. Bosh is nice but a little soft for my taste. Amare is a mediocre defender, Bosh is downright bad on defense. I wouldn't hesitate to move Andris or Monta to get Amare. Sure, Andris and Monta are supposed to be the cornerstones of our franchise but if thats the case I don't see a great future for this team. Amare is a LEGIT franchise guy IMO. Bosh is a franchise guy but he can't dominate games like Amare can. I'd be ecstatic with either though and I'd give pretty much anything to get them assuming the W's do some investigating and make sure that they have a good chance of re-signing them.

Like MTII said, we have more of what Toronto would be looking for. Phoenix wants cap relief and probably isn't too keen on keeping Amare in conference let alone in the division. Toronto needs SG/SFs who can score, players who can play now, but also wouldn't mind young players. I don't even care though, you do ANYTHING to get these guys. These are legit franchise 20/10 PFs who can score at will, rebound, block shots, etc. These are the guys we've been pining for since Webber. If you have an opportunity to get one you fucking do it then fill in the blanks later. When you have an Amare, Bosh, young Webber, etc. its easier to get good players once you have a franchise guy compared to starting off with fringe all-star types and trying to get a center piece with them (like we've done with J-Rich, Jamison, Sprewell, Monta/Jack/Beans).

Monta, Biedrins, Randolph, Wright, Beli, Jack, Crawford, Mags, our first round picks- I don't care. If you can get one of Amare or Bosh DO IT (unless they inquire that they're not going to re-sign).

I would not give up Biedrins for Amare or Bosh because I like both much more as PFs than Cs and they'd both be a lot less effecive without Biedrins next to them. "Filling in the hole" at the center position is a non-trivial task and Biedrins, with his very reasonable, flat contract, is a bargain, and will be even more of a bargain in the coming years. Ellis I would have to consider but even then I would hesitate. Monta also has a great contract and while I'm not convinved he'll ever be a PG, he brings some things that few if any other players in the NBA do (when healthy).

I'd love Amare to be on this team, but he's like Shaq. He needs touches to be effective because he sure doesn't like to play much D... Plus Amare can be kind of selfish.

Here's the problem with the warriors: plenty of versatile scorers, not enough defense. Our game can get pretty lousy like 1 vs. 5 offense and 0 vs. 5 on defense. Guys like Craw, Mags, and Monta are good, but they are just not known for their defensive play and we need it every game because of our streak offense. Then you got guys like Biedrins and Sjax who are decent defenders, but only in a few stretches (Biedrins gets overpowered or into foul trouble and Sjax gets tired and starts playing D with his hands. Then you got okay defenders in our former nbdl players, but nothing to shout about. What we need are some all nba defensive players. We need guys who are just so focussed, well coached on technical skill and knowledgeable about a player's tendencies so they can play the %'s on defense. The best guys will know when to gamble and when to stay home. If we had that, we wouldn't be as bad this year record wise. But I guess our strategy was always to look the other way on defense because we don't have the personnel. The dubs have played decent defense, but... only against certain teams...

Good points, 1 thing to remember though. To get Amare, you'd have to give up some of those pieces. Also, with a guy like Amare, a PG like Demarcus all of a sudden becomes a more viable option to play some minutes. (until you can draft one for the future) Also, Jax becomes a better player because he gets to focus on D and play the inside out game with Amare. Can you imagine Bellineli feeding the post to Amare getting wide open 3s? How about Morrow at the corner? This team would instantly get better.
As for Amare not liking to play here. I think you have a 3 man rotation up front with Beans Turiaf and Amare. He'd probably end up playing quite a bit at the 4. In short, if Ellis is the main piece, then I do it without hesitation. If it's Biedrins, then Wright needs to not be involved and I don't like Amare at the 5. I'd hold off.

I don't want to give up Biedrins who is close to any semblance of a defensive player we got!!! No to mortgaging the future for Amare. I can't even imagine how Crawford, Mags, and Amare are ever going to share the ball. I told you Nelson would give up the future (Biedrins and AR) for now. The guy has some screws loose in his head. The same thing goes for Bosh. If AB got hurt playing center, then Bosh will get killed. If it's Bosh and we keep Biedrins for a B&B front line, then we can talk.

So the solution to ball hogs not liking other ball hogs is to get another ball hog.

I disagree with everything you just said (except for what PHX and Toronto are looking for). First and foremost, we don't have a 3-ball, play making PG to pair with Amare. Even if we had Steve Nash in his prime, PHX proved that you can't win building around Nash and Amare. They didn't have the D to back it up.

Second, you're going to end up with guys who need touches to be happy like Craw, Mags, and Amare. There aren't enough balls made on the planet to satisfy these guys. I'm not saying that we won't be an offensive force, but a team need chemistry to be able to win.

Third, Amare rather play the PF position. He's not looking to get back to playing center unless it gonna give him a chance at a ring. The Warriors offer no chance at that. Furthermore, I have no idea why Nelson refuses to play two bigs??? He continues to seek the PF that he can play out of position at center.

I agree, I'd rather keep Biedrins over Ellis. Our chances of finding a combo guard are a lot easier than finding a tough, smart, athletic defensive big man who isn't horrible offensively. We thought Ellis was pretty special (and he is in some ways), but it seems to me guys like Monta, Jeryd Bayless, Russell Westbrook, Leandrinho Barbosa, Gilbert Arenas are found in every single draft at least one time. We need a player that the league has a very few supply of. Then we can build around that dominating player. Otherwise, if we all have pretty ho-hum players, they better play team ball and play well defensively (like the Pistons when their marquee player for a while was Ben Wallace and then it felt like Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton were severely underrated until they won that championship and made the all-star teams).

We'd have to can Nelson or something.

I'm almost willing to bet that a team with Biedrins, Turiaf, and Amare would have us seeing b.s. lineups with Turiaf getting zero minutes, Biedrins on the bench, with Amare as starting center. Okay fine I take that back. He'll start Biedrins and Amare together like he tried to do with a retiring Chris Webber, but not in the 4th. It'll be all midget ball and the opposite of defense because Nelson is that stubborn and because he's so used to what has worked for him all these years.

Take the NY game for instance. All we're doing is trading baskets! Each team is shooting like over 50% it seems like.
