    Former Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia left the UFC having lost two title fights. He then went to Affliction where he lasted about 40-seconds before tapping out against Fedor Emelianenko. Since then he has been stymied in an effort to book a fight against Ken Shamrock (0-5 in his last five, all knockouts). Well now apparently he and his manager Monty Cox are trying to book a fight against Ray Mercer (0-0). Mercer is a 48-year old former boxer who has one amateur MMA bout, a choke-out loss to Kimbo Slice. Mercer also has two kickboxing bouts, both losses, including a loss to Remy Bonjasky in which he was kicked in the leg once and he gave up. Whichever State sanctions this fight should be reprimanded. Tim Sylvia is one of the most reviled figures in MMA for a reason, you know.

    I remember someone else burping a lot during a recent UFC fight, darn I wish i remembered who it was. It was the weirdest thing, his corner was trying to talk to him and all he could do was burp.

    Update: looks like he's going to make it!

    Translation: nobody would approve an MMA fight between a 47-year old amateur and the former UFC champion, so instead we are going to have a gong show of a boxing card nobody will give a fuck about. It's just good business. I'm going to bury Tim's career under a collapsed house of shit if it's the last thing I do.

    Damn, its not like Tim Sylvia is completely untalented. The guy can at least be fighting in Japan or he could be in Strikeforce in the states.

    Sylvia and his dipshit manager have moved this fight to Alabama, where there is no sanctioning.

    They are determined to have this meaningless boxing match proceed.

    Also, Sylvia thinks 48-year old Ray Mercer is a "top-20" boxer. So is Sylvia, in that case.

    Monte Cox is amazed that people think the fight was moved to Alabama for dishonest reasons. He should be amazed that anyone is paying attention to this BS in the first place.
