Feb 12th vs Golden State Gametime 7:30 pm Pacific Time CSN A little thought before a game with Golden State would be a good thing. I know the coaches will put a little thought into it and hopefully the team will listen to what they have to offer because this Golden State team has given us trouble in the past. We won when they played here last month, but lost a game we should have won down there in November..the seventh time in a row we have lost to Golden State in Golden State. Oden had 22 points and ten rebounds in that game and we should have won. I hope Nates history lesson pays off and the Blazers bring their A game to the Bay area tonight. They'll need it because despite all the turmoil and soap opera that surrounds this franchise, Don Nelson always fields a team of players who run the floor hard and will not roll over and die. The Warriors set a season high for points and pounded the Knicks Tuesday night 144-127. They did it mostly by running the same play over and over again. The play is called "one up", and it is pretty much a pick-and-roll. Swingman Stephen Jackson sets a screen for the ball-handler — usually guards Monta Ellis or Jamal Crawford — and then they work the two-man game."We had them in a bind on a play and basically ran it about 30 straight times," Warriors coach Don Nelson said. "Until they stopped it, we were going to continue to run it. And they never stopped it." Other than a nice win over the Knicks, the good news for the Warriors is that Monta Ellis has finally returned. The bad news is that Andris Biedrins has a bad ankle and is expecteed to be out until after the allstar break, although his status is listed as day to day. The good news the the Blazers is that Steve Blake is practicing with the team again. He also is not expected to return until after the break. Speaking of good news, the good news for Steve Blake is that he and his wife are parents again. Wednesday morning she gave birth to their second son. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Blake. The Warriors will be waiting for us in Oakland coming off a days rest and a nice victory over the Knicks, but we had pretty good game last night ourselves, rolling over the Thunder 106-92. Both Greg Oden and Jerryd Bayless helped make the difference in this revenge match. Lots of grist for the rumor mill this morning over at Hoopshype Lots of comments from KP and too many rumors to mention here. Suffice to say that much of the talk is around Portlands desire to improve at the point guard and small forward positions. This is a trap game. We should slow the pace down and win 88-82, but it's fun to run, so I'm feeling MIXUMish about tonight. I think if GS is allowed to score over 100, they win.
Pound the ball inside again, again and again. If we start taking jump shots the entire game, I'm going to puke...
