Why are you so wound up in that stat? Chauncey Billups is a career .416 from the field. Baron Davis is a career .410 from the field. He's about as good as it gets defensively at the point guard spot. He'd be a very nice fit at the point guard spot.
As I'm sitting here I watch Hinrich come up with a huge steal on Wade to get possession with 3 seconds to go in regulation.
Yup, just saw that as well. Hinrich is the kinda move that while not flashy makes our team significantly better IMO.
Hinrich is hardly a "lock down" defender, let alone "amazing", lol...Solid? Yes. But let's not get carried away. And his defense has actually worsened over time. He's also pretty soft and yet another jump shooter with no penetration skills...exactly what we don't need.
I think Hinrich is a upgrade over Blake but probably not worth his contract. I also think by next year Bayless would be better and our starting PG. I'm not against trading for Hinrich but wouldn't want to give up anything more then LaFrenz and Sergio.
The simplest trade that works is: Portland sends out RLEC Portland gets Hinrich Phoenix sends out Amare Phoenix gets Tyrus Thomas and RLEC Chicago sends out Thomas and Hinrich Chicago gets Amare Phoenix can probably do better: supposedly they've been offered Marion (back) and Beasley. Is Thomas better than Beasley? Some people might actually think so - both are exasperating - but Beasley is probably valued more around the league. RLEC is a bigger savings though. Portland could throw in the supposedly discussed rights to Freeland and take back the mistake of Goran Dragic... I've suggested several previous three ways that get us Deng (the best one here) but I'm starting to agree that they're unlikely to give up on Deng if they're getting Amare.
I'd love this trade from the Bulls stand point, as we'd still have Gooden and Simmons' expiring contracts to go after Chris Kaman or Tyson Chandler.
Well Hinrich held the 3rd best player in the league to 9-23 shooting and stole the ball from him with 3 seconds to go. Even if he is not like he was, I'd still take that on my team.
If the Bulls get Amare say on Tuesday, I wouldn't mind a Thursday trade like: Bulls Receive: Tyson Chandler Martell Webster or Travis Outlaw Hornets Filler Blazers Receive: Andres Nocioni Kirk Hinrich Hornets Receive: Raef Lafrentz
Heart, grittyness, tough defender, hustle, gold medalist. How many more euphemisms have to be thrown out before Nocioni gets accepted in a trade? The Chicago media keeps saying Nocioni has good trade value around the league. Which begs the question, is anyone watching? Other teams must still think of Nocioni as the player he was in 05-06. Now they just believe in a caricature of Nocioni, and not the actual, no defense, shot chucking player that he is.
Sounds like he's a perfect fit ....in Chicago. After this season he is owed: $7,500,000 $6,850,000 $6,650,000 It decreases but that doesn't change the fact that he's an overpaid mediocre player.
I agree sloth is always trying to pawn Nocioni on us. Dude it's not going to happen. You can dream about it every night if you'd like to, but there is no way Nocioni gets traded to Portland
I beg to differ! Portland would take "The Noc'" with a quickness... ... if he came along with Derrick Rose.
The last year of Noc's deal is a team option. Kirk with some very iffy defense on Wade at the end of the game, but he really shouldn't have been in that position.
